i really want to make a your mom joke involving scratch offs and my lap, but i'm gonna rise above it. but i've already spoken quite repetitively about why i don't like this trade and i invite you to review all of those posts at your leisure.

Yea, because players never get disgruntled and request for a trade before their contract is up.

Bruce Arthur: So Chris Paul won't report, per ESPN. Odom won't report, per the LA Times. Demps had to be talked out of resigning, per Woj. The NBA's back!

Whether we get Gasol or keep Martin, Scola, Dragic. Glad to see we are dealing with the ones who understand this is a business.

This trade would have made sense 5 years ago. At 32, Pau Gasol is past his prime.

Comparing us to the Mavs is ridiculous, they have a superstar, assist king at pg, Chandler is far from soft, and have depth.

Gasol is not a center. His brother is a better center than he is. Kmart may be soft but he can score with the best of them, and Scola may be unathletic but he works his butt off and that makes up for it. We'd be just as far from a championship with Gasol on the roster but we'll never know....

I will definitely say this about the whole thing, now that it seems this trade isn't going to happen.

My respect, admiration, and appreciation for Scola and Martin has only grown from this trade. Of the teams involved, the Rockets seem to be the only team that can come away from it and not have to worry about major ripple effects.

Gotta love that Scola. A true soldier. Thank goodness he is still a Rocket.

Let me ask you guys this.

Would you have traded Scola and Martin for Amare? Bosh?

Cuz Gasol is better than both of those dudes.

He was the 2nd best PF in the Game today after Dirk.

You gotta admire the stoicism of Scola et. al. Just shows that in life you just have to learn to be content to find fulfillment and happiness.

So relieved this crappy trade didn't go down.

I went from despising David Stern to instantly loving him! :)

Your mom rises above it at my leisure......

No, but seriously, I appreciate the criticisms of the trade, I just disagree with your points...not enough to post a comment for them though.

However I had to post a comment on on your statement that collecting assets to "magically" flip them into something more valuable does not work. It does. It has. It would have today if the NBA would not have made a mockery of everyone involved in the trade as well as themselves.

You can't blame Morey's strategy since it DID pan out today. You can criticize the trade itself, but not the idea that collecting coins to trade in for a dollar does not work.

Nets have emerged as No. 1 choice for Dwight Howard, multiple sources say. D12 is expected to ask Magic to trade him to NJ.

LOL, lets see Stern block this.

Tas Melas: Kevin McHale gets a new job and, deja vu, he's got a bunch of unhappy players that don't wanna play for him. #Rockets 1 minute ago

Completely disagree with this tweet. Scola/Martin/Dragic are professionals and come to work every single day.

Also, I am one of the few who thinks the trade will still go down.

I wouldn't put it past him.

Poor CP3, he probably has the face of an orphan outside a window during a cold Christmas eve.

That sounds great for Howard. Deron and Dwight is a good combo.
