The Rockets frontline went from smallest in the league, to right up there near the biggest in the league. They almost had two 15-20 ppg scorers down low... and you guys DIDN'T want that? What the hell is wrong with y'all?
I don't know whats wring with them... brain washed by the fact that scola and martin will lead us to the promise land.
The chances of getting Nene was still 50/50 at best. All reports are he much prefers to stay than any other possible scenario. Making trade didn't guarantee Nene or close to it.
I believe he is talking about long-term contracts. They don't have to take on Scola's extra 3 years for $30M, for example.
Better believe it. You can forget about "sources" helping these writers now too. The exposure just instigates the frustration of owners.
We can sign Nene without making this deal. He is irrelevant to the decision making process in regards to this trade. Yes we cleared $2-3 million in cap space, but we can have $12 million after amnesty of Thabeet. If you want extra space, you can move a Dragic/Williams/Flynn/Hill
Where was it posted that we would be getting Nene? Everyone keeps alluding to this, did I miss something?
Good point. There is so much wrong with this trade being blocked that it's mind blowing, and I didn't like the trade. Like it, or dislike it, some owners and Stern shouldn't have been able to block what was a perfectly legitimate deal. There is no excuse for this action. None.
Because the trade would put us $12 under the cap. We could use that cap space to sign Nene. Lowry, Pau, Nene would've been absolutely sick.
We would have shed some salary with this trade, thus offering Nene substantial more money than we can now.
Nope, but we still have a PF that averaged over 18ppg, and a SG that averaged over 23ppg. In fact, Scola and Gasol averaged almost the same PPG, while Gasol played 5 more minutes per game.
Jonathan_Feigen Jonathan Feigen Luis Scola said he wanted to talk, but didn't know what to say. Has spoken with Daryl Morey, even added "I have no complaints with them."
