As regulator, the NBA purchased its own NBA team. Now as team owner it has a duty of loyalty to the team and at the same time maintain its impartiality as regulator. The team hired a GM which accomplished a trade which appears to be arm's length but which other owners complained puts them at a competitive disadvantage. Is there still a level playing field in the NBA when you have the regulator as team owner?
Yahoo Sports reported that NBA Commissioner David Stern killed the trade after several owners complained. Citing anonymous sources, Yahoo reported Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban was one of the most vocal owners upset about the deal, done the same day as the end of the lockout, which was supposed to restore competitive balance in the league. I'd take my chances. We'd still have our cap money to lure Nene(who else would be enticing enough as a winner?). Gasol/Nene/CBud/Lee/Lowry is a team that can contend. Twin Towers in the middle that McHale dreams about. Lowry as the playmaking combo PG. Soft at wing positions, but that's where it's easiest to grab someone overpaid from the trade market.

I actually kinda want this trade IMO if this trade goes through, we have a higher chance of getting Nene with the expense of K-Mart which we could replace in the later future.

NBA owners should just unite and replace David Stern. How many votes does it take to replace an NBA Commissioner? He's been sitting on that position longer than Ghadafi...oops ...maybe not. it is true what they say " power corrupts...and absolute power corrupts absolutely". Democracy exists so power is not concentrated on one individual and there are different personalities elected. Mark Cuban complained about Yao Ming making moving screens in the NBA playoffs before and Stern acted on his complaints. There must be something about this special relationship between Stern and Cuban.
