Yes my friends......the owners nixed the deal to the lakers but they would approve the deal to the rockets ! Make the trade, but replace Martin with Lowry. So in essence the Hornets get Scola and Lowry and we get Cp3.
ain't happening. other teams offering Curry, rondo, gordon... Pau was the one all-star we could of had this coming season and the opportunity is gone. now can only hope for the draft...
i would gamble on paul for one season. we could easily get the cap space to pair him with dwight this summer. it's worth a shot. even if he leaves, i'd rather try and fail than not try at all. doesn't matter anyway. paul wasn't traded because the NBA won't let the hornets (who they own) trade him. It would bankrupt the team. it's as if les told morey not to make that trade. the GM listens to the owner. this probably has more to do with the NBA not wanting to trade paul than the other owners who complained.
LOL - he won't pass up that money...he can be a free agent next year, if he sat, the contract is on hold until he comes back. DD
Trade for him, and then flip him for Gasol(or anyone else you can get). This way you circumvent the owners' vetoes. We wouldn't keep him for ourselves because obviously he doesn't want to play here, otherwise there wouldn't have been a need to get the Lakers involved(I doubt Odom was such a deal breaker for NO). If the owners insist they take back less salary, then NO will have to add more to the deal. Something like Paul, Okafor for Martin, Scola, 2009 busts, pick. NO loses out and gets less in return than the original deal, but they have no choice. They have no leverage since the alternative is losing him for nothing.
Trade for Paul. If he re-signs, great. We have somebody to build around. If not, then we have a ton of cap space and can also go into full rebuild (tank) mode like so many are clamoring for. If the owners won't let the Hornets take the Lakers offer, maybe they'll be willing to accept our "lesser" offer.
Why do you think he wants to play here? He doesn't. Some of you guys act like the NBA favors the lakers, knicks, etc... That's not it. Players favor those teams. Those are big market teams and those are great, glamorous cities. Houston is not a big market nor glamorous.
Get outta here with that. Numbers say other wise. It may not be glamorous but a big market it is. The reason no one wants to play here is the same reason no one wants to play for the Clippers before Blake Griffin.
what good does trading for a PG do us with Lowry already on the team. we need to get a C, amnesty Scola, re-sign Hayes
Chris Paul is going to the union to seek legal action. No one in their right mind will trade for a player that doesn't want to player for any other team but LA.
