If the NOLA can't support a franchise, then they need to close up shop their. Very similar to the Bobcats. Perhaps its time to contract both of those teams and move them back to Vancouver and Seattle.
Holy ****face Twitter just wasted 5 hours of my life!!! And ****ed up Scola and Martin emotionally. Tank mode here we come....
You guys have to understand: the owner of the other teams basically own NO as well. They didn`t kill it because it was unfair, they killed it because they believed it hurts the future of NO - and that is what I am thinking as well. The Pau Gasol to the Lakers deal happened, because Memphis thought this might be the best deal they could get. Stupid - yeah - but it did net them Marc Gasol in the end. Now a lot of people say, this deal hurts NO (financially or on the court) - so the owners shut it down.
Losing the 2012 1st round pick to the Knicks makes me mad. Les is gambling, but he is making bad mistakes. DM gave up too much, and didn't give good advise to his boss.
I dont think killing this trade is going to help ticket sales in NO noticeably. Paul is leaving not if, but when. And now, they owners have snagged a dream away from Paul. Do you think he is going to be happy about this? Do you think he was already packing and having fantasies about being in LA? How do you think his face is going to look on press day? Not to mention that all of NO now understands that their own management is an empty shell and without decision making power. And that the fate of their team is up to those very same 30 owners that bickered all summer and fall with the players in the first place. What happens now if your a NO fan? Every decision involving cp3 for one year only has to be voted on by the owners? Frankly, it wouldnt surprise me one bit if the vetoed every trade given to them. Paul may walk for NO return what so ever. How many tickets will that sell next year and the year after?
You never address the points, you just repeat the same sentences. 1) You said you wanted more playing time for the young guys 2) 2 x 40 minute starters = less playing time for young guys than if you trade them for 1 x 40 minute starter 3) You still say it's a bad trade Also, you never address the question that if your end goal is to get high quality young pieces, are you in a better position to do so with Martin/Scola or with Gasol?
I didn't care much for the trade, but the league killing the trade is beyond ridiculous. It makes no sense whatsoever......
What makes this worse is if Morey did his typical "don't contact the players or their agents to tell them they have been traded" routine. Awkward.
