I'm not totally sure yet, but this must be what it feels like to be the 2nd twin to come out of the womb.

@WojYahooNBA: The NBA has caved to pressure from owners that the appearance of this deal, on heels of lockout, had to be stopped, sources tell Y! Sports.

So this means CP3 will never be traded, and will be allowed to walk?

What kind of CP trade will the other owners deem to be "in the league's interest"?

Will the other owners basically force CP to stay in NO for the year and take less from another team just to make a point?

Is it just an anti-big-market thing?

THAT WAS nothing like this. that was done by the teams when they made the choice. now this is like the principle tell you you cant trade your baseball card for your classmates other baseball card.

Wow, just wow, I guess the NBA won't be happy until they can confirm Dwight and CP3 are in LALA land.

Poor Demps, he's just a freaking puppet. CP3 has stated he will leave and the rest of the owners won't let Demps try and get something for him before he bails.

I almost feel like the season could be In jeopardy now. Players won't like this.

The owners are probably objecting to the MASSIVE amount of extra salary the Hornets are adding; remember that Mark Cuban almost killed the Carl Landry-Marcus Thornton deal last year.

    Paul: $16M
    Scola: $28M
    Martin: $24M
    Dragic: $2M
    Odom: $11M

Total added: $49M over 3 years, with no cash from either LA or Houston to cover. I'm sure the owners would rather that Okafor and Ariza be attached to make the trade salary neutral.

As we've seen, competitive balance is a total sham; I'm sure that the owners just want to make the team as attractive as possible. While it's backwards to fans, I'm sure that most prospective owners will see players under contract as giant liabilities, rather than financial assets, outside of a very select few players. A clean balance sheet might add a few million to the purchase price of the team next year.

Wow.... What do Morey & McHale now say to Martin & Scola tomorrow???....

My question is, why wouldnt the NBA, who owns the Hornets, not want them to make out this well in trading their star ,who is leaving anyways, for a clean sweep or really good players, and the chance to compete on the fly???

Do the owners really care so much about stopping the Lakers from getting Paul, that they are forgetting that they are killing New Orleans by stopping this deal from happening???

Oh I thought you meant like just in general, not the league declining the trade.
