Stein One source close to the three-team Chris Paul trade talks just told ESPN.com: "The deal is off." damn
sam_amick Sam Amick As has been reported, Chris Paul deal has hit a snag. "Doesn't look good," says source close to it. Yahoo! reporting owners furious at deal.
Anyone wants to take bets that the Celtics lead this Owners charge. Or are the bets with the smaller markets owners?
So, would the other owners approve ANY trade involving Chris Paul? I mean, is this trade more indefensible than the Deron Williams or Carmelo Anthony trade?

So why are we thinking the N.O. GM will just give in to the other owners' demands? That is a good haul for the Hornets. Is it just that they don't want the Lakers to get better? I mean, they are really hurting New Orleans here.
This is BS. Yea the Lakers got better, but we have a great opportunity to get better as well. Also, the Hornets got a pretty sweet return for a star that's unhappy. I can see the argument with the NBA owning the Hornets, but this IMO they are getting a better return than the Jazz got for Deron last season. The other owners are just pissed that LA has a chance to end up with CP3, Kobe, and Dwight. Yea that's a phenomenal team, but the other owners shouldn't be able to kill it simply because the NBA owns the team.
AND ODOM. they lose all their frontline which is what made them hugely successful in the first place, leaving only bynums shaky knees to grab a rebound. WTF MAN, 10000 DOLLARS BET ON THE CELTICS AND HEAT STARTING THIS MAMMOTH OF FIASCO.
This is so dumb. I mean I get that the owners don't want to see Paul dealt to the Lakers, but the Hornets got a pretty nice package in return here. You could argue that it's the wrong direction the Hornets are taking, but what do the owners expect the NBA/Hornets to do? Just let Paul leave via FA? Trade him to anybody but the Lakers/Knicks? Please.
