OK, we got Pau...how sure are we that Nene's to follow?

It's very apparent that Daryl Morey pulled the trigger on this deal with the idea that another piece was sure to follow. Are we almost positive that the piece is in the form of a center, and more specifically, Nene? I mean, I've read in a couple of places that the Nuggets still feel very confident that they are going to resign Nene (they are the only one's that can add an additional fifth year, something that looks to be very enticing). If that's the case, then where do we go from here? In all honesty, I'm OK with the move that was made. Pau is a dominant PF (top-3 in the game) and still has plenty of good basketball left. I'm just curious as to where the additional "firepower" is going to come from now that we lost a 20 ppg scorer in Martin and one that was good for around 15-17 a night and 7-8 rebounds from Scola...Thoughts?

How would the addition of Nene complement Gasol? Neither one of them has a good low-post game.

I think morey's next move is getting Kaman because his contract is expiring and he's still an above average big guy.

Haha, yeah, I was confused as to his response as well. Pau's low post game is ELITE. Make no mistake about it. Nene isn't too shabby himself.

I don't understand, the second Pau becomes a Rocket he all of a sudden turns into some marginal player by 60% of this board

Nene-Gasol would be pretty sick... Once I get past the though of Gasol being a Rocket, Im sure I would like it!

I just cant stand Gasol! He's gonna have to win me over!

Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous. The guy is a damn good player, perhaps even a great one by some standards.

If we don't get Nene, though, there is no question that I hope we sign DeAndre Jordan to a significant offer sheet in hopes of prying him away from the Clippers. That guy, playing alongside Pau, could be deadly. He's an athletic freak with some serious game.

Pau Gasol has always had an elite low-post offensive game.

    He's just soft-minded

Gasol/Nene and Patterson is a nasty frontcourt. I hope this happens. Gotta think we have a good shot since Morey pulled the trigger on this.

Morey wouldn't do this trade without a verbal agreement prob from Nene. or at least I hope so.

We just lost one of the best scorers in the league. Just where are those points going to come from?

Gasol has a career average of almost 19 points a game. He is a throwback, dump it down into the post and score option. He might not be the prolific scorer Martin is but he's no slouch with limited scoring abilities.

Question is whether Nene and Gasol make for a winning backcourt? I would love to see Hayes stay if this happens....

Nene and Gasol would be a terrible backcourt. However, they would make for a great frontcourt.

Rockets turning attention back to Nene, pushing hard to get deal done. Will almost certainly take $12-14M per year average.
