NOT TRUE ABSOLUTELY FALSE! The Hornets are now second guessing themselves and feel a straight up trade for Gasol and CP3 makes them more of a competetor than scola and martin.
I'm indifferent with this addition, if we're able to get Pau then what do we do with Hill and the rest of the PF's we have? Sure we can move him (Pau) to the 5 like what the Grizzlies did but would that really make us contend with the rest of the league? He's not known for his physical attributes but he would give us a legit big that we've been looking for. At the cost of Scola and Martin, it's not too bad of a trade off. A bit of our scoring punch leaves with them though. As far as I remember we won't really have any SG's to develop. We have a big amount of PG's/SF's/PF's and maybe one true C but even with Thabeet, expecting big things from him in just one season would be a bit of a stretch. Would be pretty interesting what comes after the trade though, we might be involved in more than one trade. By giving us Pau, we at least have the chance to do better in the regular season. Maybe Terrance Williams will have a breakout year and replace Budinger in the line up. He certainly has the ability to score and use his talents, long as his mentality is right.
I hope so. I'd rather have Martin and Scola who actually want to be here...not try and build around a 31 year old, 2nd tier star that doesn't.
apparently there are multiple draft picks involved....i dont like the trade as of now, i hope morey has something up his sleeve.
This is not the official Pau thread TBH. Whoever creates the new thread if/whenever he signs is the real "welcome" thread.
http://tracking.si.com/2011/12/08/report-chris-paul-pau-gasol-involved-in-3-team-deal/ The Lakers would receive Paul, but they would be giving up Lamar Odom and Pau Gasol. Gasol would head to Houston, and Odom and three Rockets — Kevin Martin, Goran Dragic, and Luis Scola — would go to New Orleans
