Like usual, can we PLEASE wait for it to be final and all details of the deal be announced before we celebrate Morey or run him out of town?

Remember, he has made other moves in the past that made most scratch their heads and yet they have worked out.

How much does getting rid of Dragic, Scola, and Kmart save us? Enough to throw a heavy amount at Nene or Marc Gasol?

    this is about the money.

the rockets cut about $6M this season, putting them about $12 under the cap. extra money to offer nene.

Agreed. We should remember that everyone was whining the same way when we traded Alston for Lowry too.

Really? Because that is all it is about. Trade the entire roster right now Al Horford.

    After trade: 1 All-Star

    Before trade: 0 All-Star

How is this trade anything, but a win?

This is key, the cap space aspect.

If this deal allows us to sign the other Gasol or Nene, and we don't lose draft picks, then its a slam dunk.

Before this trade Houston had two respected borderline All-Stars that should`ve been able to get us draft picks, young talent or play a good part on this team.

After the trade Houston has gained one all-star but is still missing big pieces (center and a go to guy) - but is basically out of assets to get us what we need.

The trade kinda handcuffs us to a win now mode, without giving us the necessary pieces. That`s why it is not a win. I didn`t like the last 10 years of almost being able to compete - this trade should guarantee us another 5 years like that.

You're failing to realize that Gasol is also not a liability on defense like Scola and Martin.

We're not getting anywhere with the current team and IF this trade does happen, its gives us a very good chance to sign Nene and be competitive again.
