Martin gives up just as many points as he scores often enough, so we are doing addition by subtraction. We are also upgrading at Scola's position. Also Dragic is highly replacable.
Ummm...this trade makes the HORNETS better than Houston. That new lineup is complete and well rounded.
I do think we come up a bit short in this deal, but it's not nearly as bad as some of y'all are making it out to be.
New Orleans made it out VERY NICELY....I am seriously impressed. All for a player who was going to walk anyways! Jack/Dragic Martin Odom/Ariza Scola Emeka And I think we're definitely losers in the trade but at least we finally got a center.
Amen! Again man. Am i the only with you who believes this is a trade that will get us out of mediocrity? And give rise to our Youth?
Bima, back me up on this, but if this trade goes thru the way it has been reported, I think our cap room goes up another $4 million. If we amnesty cut Thabeet, we should have more than $15 million in cap room to sign Nene (of course assuming we give up all players rights and TPE).
Well if anything, I think this frees up some money to throw at Nene. Perhaps Marc Gasol becomes a more realistic possibility?
Gasol is not worth Martin and Scola...no way!! This is not just a bad deal...EXTREMELY BAD DEAL!! You gotta get more than that....and they're even talking about giving up picks to Hornets?? You got to be kiddin' me right? Gasol for either Scola or Martin but not both....
It'd be funny, if by the time the young Rockets develop, to the level of the vets they have now, Gasol retires or suffers a severe decline. During that time they stay competitive enough not to be able to get a real high upside guy. So they end up in the same situation 3 years on.
franblinebury Fran Blinebury Rockets have been desperate to add marquee player in aftermath of McGrady-Yao. Did they do it with 31-year-old Pau Gasol? Methinks NO. This is so depressing.
That will be tragic to the fans and I don't think its easy to swallow after losing Shaq and then lose Dwight.
