Lowry/Martin/Morris/Patterson/Gasol isn't too bad, I just don't want to give up both ours and the NY pick. Maybe this is because Scola can't play C?
If the Rockets arent surrendering both Martin AND Scola, then this deal is getting a little better. Amnestying Thabeet, signing Nene and then moving Gasol for Scola/Morris/Montejounas/picks is a strong play. Lowry / Dragic Martin / Lee Bud / Parsons Nene / Hill Gasol / ?? Now THAT is a legit team.
Yeah, apparently the deal was shot down. CP3 has to be going to the Celtics. They are giving the best offer honestly. And they will have enough room next year to sign Dwight, unless he signs an extension somewhere.
Yep, then said "Or Both..." they really are just speculating what Houston would offer. Since it's Broussard who would love the idea of a 4 team league he has no problem thinking that the Rockets would give up all their worth just to help out the Lakers. The guy is always dreaming about how the big 4 can get their superstar players at other teams expense.
haha it is going by pretty fast. to recap for those that dont want to read all million pages: first it was, rockets are rumored to be a part of a 3 team deal with leakers and hornets board was going crazy, some people wanted bynum some wanted pau, some wondered who we would send, but most people assumed it would be scola then it was reported that the main piece houston would receive was pau gasol, not bynum the board went crazy, some people called him soft, some thought it was just a means to an end to get nene or his brother to join him here, some people compared his to scola and determined that he was an upgrade, top 15 player vs top 50 player. some people were okay with it as long as we only sent scola plus maybe some of the 09 draft busts then it was reported that martin would to be included in the trade board initially thought that it was too much to give for pau (some, including myself still think that) but eventually some people came to terms with that idea and were behind it. those people didnt think it should include anymore than martin/scola. people also started to wonder if we might be getting more in that deal (like maybe a piece from LA (odem, artest) or okafur from NO) then david aldridge reported that we would be sending out scola, martin, dragic, AND 1st/2nd round pics. pretty much everyone thought that this was too much at this point. the entire time there were still debates on where pau could take us as a team. finally, it was reported that the lakers have backed out of the trade, no reasons given, even though it seemed like they were the clear winners in the reported trades. this leads me to believe that there were more to the trades that we didnt hear about (maybe bynum AND pau leaving?) anyway, i'm sure more has happened since ive been typing this all. hope this helps catch people up. resume the million page thread!
now a fan says media day for the lakers was pushed back to sunday... previously saturday... so let that speculation begin.
Gasol is barely worth Scola, and you want to throw in Morris, Donuts and picks. That isn't even worth consideration.
to hear about how we are getting Pau Gasol and helping Lakers get CP3 then to hear now CP3 is going to Boston because Lakers pulled out of trade Just a bunch of speculation
Rox are always in the mix, but lately have not been able to pull off a big move like this, lots of moving pieces and lots of other suitors. Chance of it happening 22% DD
This would sound a lot better if it was: Scola/Thabeet/Hill/2012 Knicks pick/A Lakers 1st rounder to NO Gasol to Houston Paul to Lakers One thing for sure, the Lakers need to be giving up more, and the Rockets less than what we've seen in order to make a 3 team deal work. For that package, I'd rather just leave LA out and get Paul ourselves. If we convince him to re-sign, great. If he doesn't? We suck enough to quit being the best team not to make the playoffs.
We'd have a better "best player". We'd have a sick post player for our sick post player coach to use. If we wanna play stiffs like Thabeet and Jordan Hill, having them on the floor with a guy who can handle his business like Gasol, makes that at least tolerable. And of course it's been proven to superstars you can win big with Gasol as a second best player. I just don't want to hear us giving up TOO much beyond Martin and Scola. At some point it starts to hurt.
LOL same, I was going to try to work on a paper after I did a quick check of the D&D. Oh well, I got plenty of time Rumor has it CP3 won't sign an extension w/ boston.
