Another trade involving Pau where the Lakers are gifted a championship or two. Someone needs to remind Morey he's working for Les Alexander and not Jim Buss.

    Howard isn't coming here...

But Dwill will be a UFA in 2012, along with Bynum I guess...

How much exactly do we save even with Gasol in and Scola and Martin out in terms of cap space?

    THink about it this way.

Would you trade Scola for Gasol?

Would you trade Martin for extra money to sign Marc Gasol or Nene?

I would answer yes to both of those.

some say we'd have what we have now plus 4 million. so close to $15 million under the cap.

Like whats the point? We'll just be a 8th seed and then Gasol will decline, and we'll be average again next year. Its obvious Les just wants to be good enough to put butts in the seats consistently. He doesnt care about winning rings, just making money. We need to rebuild already.

The issue is we'd be getting Pau, not Paul.

I really don't like this deal... I would rather go for Paul... and then have Howard come to Houston... LA Lakers have had their 15 minutes of fame already... Its time for Houston to get some superstar talent, like how it used to be... Having stars like Hakeem, Barkley, and Yao Ming (in his prime)... Why are we settling to become just an average team? Doesn't make any sense to me. Tell Lakers no deal and just trade 1 v 1 with New Orleans... this move would only help the Lakers get their trio of superstars of Howard, Paul and Kobe. BOOOOO!!!

These new style pampered superstars only want to play with their BFF's. Even if Morey adds Gasol I don't see anyone on the roster that Dwight would want to play with..

If you're going to trade Martin for some extra money, at least get some damn picks out of it.

They're in the running. But so are the Rockets and Nuggets. RT @HoosierInMN: Any chance Pacers can land Nene?

Top 15 is not good enough to get us a championship. Even worse, we just helped the Lakers create a super dream team. This trade does two things,

    1. the Rockets will have a winning record for the next two-three years.

    2. the Rockets will not be a serious contender for years to come.

So in a year we should be tanking, we're coughing up multiple picks just so we can win 48 games and get crushed in the first round.

    Lowry/Gasol/Howard is a stronger team than Paul/Howard

Furthermore, this is a trade out of the sake of making a trade... Go BIG or make no move at all Rockets and tank... Don't settle for in-between/trade just to make a trade... you are being USED! USE other teams don't have other teams USE YOU! We don't want your scrubs, we want the real deal in Chris Paul and Dwight Howard!!!

You are probably right, but Lowry is not in the clique.

If only Lowry could try out and make Team USA, that's where this all really comes from.
