That's the nature of the business. They'll be ok.

I'm going to bold this because it's very important for everyone to know...

Under the new CBA, teams under the luxury tax can now receive up to 150% + $100k of whatever salaries they send out. They also have a choice to receive the total of all outgoing salaries + $5M.

That trade machine hasn't been updated, and is still working with the old 125% limit.

Theoretically, the Rockets could get Gasol and clear about $10M in cap space through this proposed trade. Although, as rumored they would only clear $4M.

It's too much. I don't believe it. Is Morey that desperate to dump salary?

If any of this is true, other GM's are blowing up Morey's phone which is probably on vibrate 100 feet away from the Toyota center.

Why would we do it if Paul will not sign an extension with us?

Yes, but offering a $15 mil contract to Nene or M. Gasol means 0 cap space for next year...

    Nope.

    Two things can happen here.

1.) Nothing happens. Morey drops out of the deal because he doesn't like it.

2.) Morey robs some poor team.

From Morey's history one of these things will happen.

Mannix is talking about how great this is for the Lakers, who won't have to give up Bynum (because they plan on trading Bynum to ORL for Howard)...any trade that's great for the Lakers is typically not good for the Rockets. I can't imagine wanting to facilitate this.

Rondo without a legit superstar is useless.. Rondo is a great player and a allstar but he needs 1 legit superstar and another allstar to be effective.

    there is no next year.

You now have an All-star PF and a Really good Center Nene or his brother.

two 7 footers with Lowry and Lee.

arent the only free agents available next year chris paul, dwight howard, and deron williams? seems like chris paul and dwight howard are going to go to the lakers so cap space would be pointless...

If we amnesty Thabeet, is there any chance we could sign Nene AND keep Hayes?

We aren't competing with the Lakers this year or for the foreseeable future any way.

Wouldn't surprise me if this is all an elaborate rouse that somehow nets us Lebron and Kevin Love after every team trades two players and Morey wears a Bryan Coangelo disguise.

Hell, that makes about as much sense as everything else going on.

I can't imagine this is a nearly completed deal, if the Knicks are signing Chandler and talking about trading Stoudemire for CP3.

    agreed.

Make it an international event. They travel the world playing against each other and other national teams.

The Rockets are supposedly one of the teams that would trade for CP3 without a guarantee that he'll sign. I'm just basing that post off of that rumor.
