He will be done if it doesn't work out the way he thinks it will.

However, one has to think there is a lot more to this...

I will be sad to see Kmart and particularly Scola go...he is my favorite Rocket player...

I will miss Scola, but I will be happy to see Lee get his shot in the starting lineup. Martin can be an amazing scorer, but he just gives you absolutely nothing on defense and he is bound to get hurt again soon.

Yeah I think this is a sell high on Martin and using Martin to upgrade over Scola. People act like Pau is some over the hill bum. He is a couple months younger than Scola and probably has less wear and tear on his body since Scola won't stop playing international competitions.

Anyhow, I am curious what the other pieces in the deal will be. If it is just Scola and Martin for Pau then I think it's a win for the Rockets. Plus we would be saving 3.3 million for 2012 while improving the team imo.

He's not in 'there' yet. Just Broussard listing our assets

Basically its Scola and Martin in the deal. Hopefully that is all it is because that is a lot already.

    This screams Les.

Gasol isn't even a big name player anymore!

Lowry is not a backup. If cp3 comes, Klow goes.

To be honest the difference between Lowry and Paul is smaller than the difference between Scola and Gasol.

    I'd rather have Gasol.

I'd disagree. I like Lowry but I think he is slightly over-rated on these boards due to his post all star break performances. Whether he can do that consistently remains to be seen. Cp3 has been there and done it over years.

Sure he is, but he's not above making bad moves. The T-Will and Thabeet trades stunk up the room.

I have an awfully hard time believing his statalytics greenlit the rumored trade....but if he does flush down our 2012 picks in a Gasol deal as rumored....I'd love to see any explanation as to how that's building for the future.

CP3 is also coming off injuries still. Hopefully he's 100% but he's always had injury problems. Kyle Lowry can still develop. If we get CP3, we better be in a win now mode.

I can see Jonny Flynn in the deal.

Personal preference? We wind up with less on our payroll and can sign Nene. Then we'd have two 4/5 guys to match up against the Western Conference teams.

Or, at least, be able to re-sign Chuck and maybe another good bench player.

The Thabeet deal was so we could get a first rounder in exchange for a guy we weren't going to re-sign anyway. I can live with that. Besides, Thabeet's an expiring contract. I can live with that, too.

T-Will? Jury's out until he gets a chance to play. He could always be thrown in a trade somewhere.
