    What are people smoking that make them think Gasol fills the hole left by Yao ? How dare ppl even compare the two!!!

    Scola is older than Gasol. I'll honestly take CLee over Martin starting at the 2 guard. He has high potential to be a real solid 2 guard.

    and do a final bidding for Paul and his services
    Nobody except for Kobe was happy in LA for a long time
    Gasol wasn't really happy and even Shaq and the ZEN master is gone

    This....I dont think the problem fans have is with getting Gasol, but what is left after. Gasol as the primary center WILL NOT cut it. As much as we love Scola, fans will pack his bags, if we get equal talent back in the very end.

    We know Morey's a slick b*stard, but what if he is trying to get both Gasol brothers? I'm not a huge NeNe fan, but I am on the Marc Gasol bandwagon.

    Gasol is a plus both on defense(!) and offense over Scola, they're the same age, and his contract ends sooner. Lee/Williams is a much better defensive tandem than Martin/Lee, not a whole lot is lost on offense, AND the team is more likely to draw/sign and decent FA center? I'm down.

    Did I read that correctly? LA gets Paul and are only giving up Pau (and perhaps picks)? Really? So that offer is supposed to be better than what we are prepared to offer (Scola, Martin and picks)? Really? I wouldn`t even say that Pau is that much better than Scola at this stage of their career - and Martin is still a borderline all-star. I`d prefer to stay put than just making a move for the sake of making a move.

    I´d say right now we only do trades for 2 reasons:

    1. Get a superstar (no, Pau is no superstar. He might`ve been one a couple of years ago - but there is no way he is still considered one)
    2. Get picks and/or young talent

    Scola AND Martin couldn't get us into the playoffs, that's why I don't mind them in the deal. Pau may be a marshmellow, but is a way better inside presence than Scola. That also opens up the door for Lee and Patterson getting more minutes (they better not be in the deal).

    One of those is a must if you're giving up the Martin/Scola picks package that we've been steadily acquiring for the past few years.

    If we add one of those guys, I am totally behind this move.

    For all we know the Lakers are trying to give the Rockets Gasol while the Rockets are actually trying to get Bynum.

    Ken Berger is the LAST person i'd trust with info...
