NO: Luis Scola, Kevin Martin, #1 pick
    LA: Chris Paul, T-Will
HOU: Pau Gasol, Metta World Peace

Sure, not the greatest, but this trade works. Our lineup:

    Lowry/Dragic
    Lee/TBD
    World Peace/Budinger/Morris
    Nene(?)/Patterson
    Gasol/Hill/Thabeet

I think we would be very competitive with that group.

    Morey must really value Lowry.

Where are you getting picks from? If we are giving up one pick I guarantee we are getting either Okafor or Odom back.

    Doesn't Gasol have a 15% trade kicker?

Solid lineup, especially defensively, but I dont see that as a complete contender yet. I wonder if we would have any cap flexibility for next year? If not, then I would rather not sign Nene and leave hopes of signing a Howard (though a long shot).

Why, do they have some secret friendship you know about? or do you think we severely over pay for him since we went all in on gasol?

Without resigning Chuck, this trade is such a stupid trade. So I assume Morey is matching his offer.

I agree but with Houston he gets a new start and not the emotional baggage of playing with Kobe smacking his head Bryant

Asking price is too much for pau.

The only thing I really don't like is that Gasol needs to be paired with another legit 7 footer. If we bust out on adding Nene, then we're ****ed.

If Morey has a handshake from Nene already in place, then he's a sneaky b*stard and I love him.

To me, the biggest downside of this deal would be losing out on the picks. This draft is shaping up to be one of the most talent-filled pools in recent memory, and if we lose out on snagging one or two of those players, that could set us back for years and years. If we're going to get bent over on the personnel side of the deal, and at least let us acquire more PICKS.

Would adding Pau Gasol make this team any better than the middle of the pack playoff teams Gasol used to play on in Memphis?
