I will still WAIT to see what we ultimately give up. I would really HATE losing Kevin Martin, but let's wait and see what is the true deal.
or CP3 will not sign an extension in Houston and we don't want to blow all our assets on a 1-yr rental
Gasol: owed $18.7M, $19M, $19.3M Has solidified himself as a second fiddle big that has no toughness or determination in the low post. Other than name recognition, 2-3 inches, and an extra point and rebound per, I don't get what he gives us that Scola doesn't.....at less than half the price. And to toss in Martin AND our picks (in this of all drafts)???? We'd be god awful and watch New Orleans draft a stud with our own pick. I'd go from being a massive Pro-Morey guy to wanting to run him out of town.
Pretty much. He's not going to be the guy that makes the stupid trade. Not now. What you all hear now are rumors. There is always some extra benefit coming back to the Rockets.
If we give up picks, I am done with the Rockets until they have a new GM. I haven't been the pissed since we let Rudy Gay slip through our fingers.
The fact Houston WANTS Gasol is disturbing. Forget about the other players, it seems dumbass Morey is targetting that spanish freak.
So reports are we get Gasol and then try to sign Nene...Our front court would be solid, but not exactly young, Gasol at 32 and Nene at 28. But is Lowry + Lee enough of a back court to win a ring? I would actually rather help facilitate a trade of CP3 to Boston for Rondo.
Depending on what "picks" are involved, I actually love the idea of getting Gasol and not losing Lowry in the process...
This. Apparently people didn't watch the Lakers win the finals the other year either, because Pau was definitely the MVP in that series. Kobe jacked up way too many shots, but was guaranteed the trophy the second they Lakers made it that far.
KBergCBS Ken Berger Sources confirm the players who'd go to NOR in Lakers-Houston-Hornets 3-way that would land CP3 with LAL are Luis Scola and Kevin Martin.
Y'all are overreacting. We don't know all the details on the trades, and since when does Morey get fleeced? Just like the Kevin Martin deal and the T Mac trade, we don't know the full details til it's over. I have faith in Morey that he knows what he is doing, and if he wants to trade Martin and Scola, then that's up to him. I'm sure it's not just for Gasol.
There is obviously more to this trade than just Gasol. Think about it, the Lakers couldnt trade Gasol for CP3 straight up. They'd have to throw in considerably more (Odom at least) just to get NO to bite. Plus, Morey would only get involved if he is extracting value from the transaction.
Rockets fans are UNbelievable. You complain that Morey doesn't get superstars and only get good players and now when he's finally trying to get a legitimate top 15 type player, you complain? You can't have it both ways.
@SpearsNBAYahoo If the Rockets land Gasol in 3-way trade, expect them to make a strong run at Nuggets free agent center Nene.
i think it was reported Morey would still make the trade hoping to change his mind...not sure if anything has changed since.
