Kind of like Yao. I'd rather have Pau (and I sort of hate Pau).

At any rate, they better not let Hayes walk if they are gutting their roster for either Bynum or Pau -- you'll need productive role players like Hayes, and, while we have a bunch of them now, we wouldn't post trade.

I think this just hands Dwight over to LA for Bynum....we may get better, but so does LA...not good for our hopes to win a ring.

    My question is this.

    Is Pau Gasol a superstar?

Gasol for Scola, TWill, Flynn and Hill/Thabbet is not bad.

    Lowry/ Dragic
    Martin/ Lee
    Morris/ Budinger/ Parsons
    Gasol/ Patterson
    Dalembert/ Thabeet or Hill

Why in the world are we helping Chris Paul go to LA anyway ?? Gasol is not a guy you can build around + declining + it's not the position we need to improve !!

If we get Gasol... we have to sign a True Center too. WE are expected to Bif on D. Jordan and Nene. And i am completely positive that Gasol isn't the only piece we are getting. I have a feeling Ariza, Odom, and/or some other pieces will be in Houston.

    He's not a Superstar but he's a star.

He's basically a Replacement for Yao Ming in terms of production. A true number one option.

Scola 18.4 PER last year and career 17.2 PER.

Gasol 23.3 PER last year and career 22.1 PER.

Gasol is only two years older.

If it is some sort of a Scola-Gasol swap, you ABSOLUTELY do it.

In last years offense Gasol would have averaged 25 12 and 4. HE'S A 7' PF!

Not sure how we're defining "superstar" but Gasol is close to it. I think he's just on the fringe of being a top ten player in this league and is the 2nd best PF after Dirk. Yes, I think Gasol is better than Stoudemire.

So we basically swap pf's and throw in our trash assets? Morey has to be contemplating a second move for a true center not named Dalembert.

It's not bad, it' terrible. Gasol is not worth all that talent.

It really comes down to how much extra we'd have to give up to get Pau. Obviously it should be less than we'd be willing to give to receive Paul alone. And theoretically LA would have to give New Orleans something to make up for trading Pau for Paul.

I don't want to lose Patterson but I feel like he might be one of New Orleans' most coveted pieces. And how many picks would we lose? I'll reserve judgment until parameters of the full deal become ironed out.
