Those picks suck (the Hornets one is lotto protected) and most around here didn't want to give up Lee for Asik last year. So you give up CP3 and get back non lotto picks and Asik?

Most playoff teams don't have great young prospects or top notch draft picks to give you. These are the things that rebuilding teams have interest in.

also your missing the point...thats not all we have...

That would be part of the trade...we flip martin for something NO wants from another team. Give them Lowry for the futre... give them their choice from Patterson (top 5 rookie from last year) and choice from flynn, hill, thabeet, twill, montejunas, and as many picks as it takes)

That is substantially more than want denver got for melo

No it doesn't. The Knicks can trade Amare for cap space and a pick, tank this season, hillbilly for them, they get a high draft pick (top 5 protected), them use Chandler, the pick plus the pick they traded Amare for to get Dwight.

Playoff teams dont have assets? Tell that to Clippers, Celtics, Trailblazers, Chicago, ... they have plenty of young assets they would deal for scola martin or lowry.

I am not saying I would do that...i am saying there is things like that...which could be easily attained.

2012 first round draft pick from Charlotte
Charlotte's own 2012 1st round draft pick to Chicago (top-14 protected in the 2012 Draft, top-12 protected in 2013, top-10 protected in 2014, top-8 protected in 2015 and unprotected in the 2016 Draft.) [Charlotte - Chicago, 2/18/2010]

that is a valuable future asset as charlotte sucks....

None of what you mentioned is a top prospect or high draft pick. We haven't been able to turn any of what you just mentioned into a top propspect or high draft pick from weak drafts, so why would we suddenly be able to turn it into a high pick for a strong draft? Flynn, Hill, Thabeet, T-Will....all busts to average players. Our picks aren't high ones. Lowry and P-Pat, while good, aren't top prospects. Not the kind you give away your franchise player for. Last year the Nuggets were forced to deal with one team. The Hornet's aren't. A better comparison would be what the Jazz got for D.Will.

I guess we'd have to trade for Paul with no guarantee he'll stay.

Is it true we have no nationally televised games this year? (Don't know if this can change thanks to later re-scheduling.)

Stars want to go where they can be seen.

Houston is just waaaaaaaaaaay under the radar now that Yao's gone. just waaaaaay under the radar.

Trade for Paul and hope you can put another superstar next to him.

    Otherwise..... Lots of #14 picks.

I guess I dont understand what you are saying...If I was building a team I would take those guys over a number 10-14 pick in this years draft....just like nuggets did last year.

No team is offering Curry or Gordon...but yes a deal that included those two would def trump our deal...but from what I have heard our assets are better than anything else.

Def better than rondo and green (which is the rumored leading deal) when it comes to the hornets...spec since its unrealistic as rondo will not stay in NO and Green wont do a S and T to go there. Both would ruin the deal.

I'm saying rebuilding teams trade their studs for top prospects and high draft picks. We don't have either. The Nuggets are a horrible comparison because Melo was dead-set on going to a team that could afford to sign him that summer. The Nuggets could only work with that 1 team.

Our assets are not better than Rondo. He is considered one of the top PG's in basketball. Lowry is not. But we can agree to disagree on our opinions of him.

It's just funny that our assets aren't even good enough to move up in a weak draft, but they will be good enough to nab one of the top players in basketball. I would be happy to be wrong though.

No, they wouldn't. They went with the package that got them a top prospect. The same dude we couldn't package any of our assets to draft.

Yes but he is limited...and is paid well, and will be paid even better soon...which defies your logic of why would a rebuilding team want that player...not to mention there is no chance NO could keep him...hed pitch a fit and get a trade if he was traded to NO...

Yah lets see what that "top prospect" does this year... I bet patterson has a better year then him.

League sources say the Houston has been trying to put together a three-team deal with the Lakers and New Orleans in which Paul goes to LA.

    Sign Tyson Chandler.

Trade Lowry, Martin, Patrick and a first in 2013, for Chris Paul.

    Our Lineup Looks like this.

    PG: Chris Paul/Goran Dragic/Johnny Flynn
    SG: Courtney Lee/Terrence Williams
    SF: Chase Budinger/Chandler Parsons/Terrance Williams
    PF: Luis Scola/Donatas Montiejunas
    C: Tyson Chandler/Hasheem Thabeet/Donates Montiejunas

This is a very competitive team that I think Chris Paul would love to play for. Nice Depth, good defense and some scorers as well.

Ugh, that would suck if it's anything less than Bynum coming back. And even then....tired of dealing with injured centers.
