That's true. But this kid has put in the time making sure he can stroke it. He doesn't have the classic motion. He flicks the ball off those long fingers but it's working for him. I'd like to see him straighten out the elbow a little and get rid of the little hesitation and make it smooth. Big hands help tremendously in the post and for grabbing boards however and being able to flip the outlet pass in one motion after grabbing the board (Otis Thorpe).

    I like his potential.

He has some potential. At least more than some guys I saw get drafted.

I really like this signing. I think he was a borderline first round talent, that simply got overlooked on draft night.

I really like Greg Smith. This guy could be a steal if he gets his mind right.

I'm impressed with him just for getting the great Daryl Morey to notice him.

Great, another undersized PF. Is he gonna play C too?!

Come on Morey. This has to be an attempt to make a move on the expirings of the 09 draft class, and leave us with a bench.

    Lowry/Dragic/Flynn
    Martin/Lee
    CBud/Morris/TWill
    Scola/Patterson/Hill/Motie(unsigned)
    Dalembert/Thabeet

    Turns into
    Lowry/Dragic
    Martin/Lee
    CBud/Morris/
    Scola/Patterson/Motie(unsigned)
    Dalembert/NEW SIGNING???

He's 6'10 in shoes(same as Okafor and Perkins) with a wingspan in the neighborhood of 7'3.... How is he undersized?

His standing reach is 3 inches shorter than Okafor. Greg Smith is a wide body that takes up a lot of space. Maybe he can turn into a taller Chuck Hayes or Ben Wallace.

This guy seems perfect as a project guy for McHale, guessing he is a D-leaguer though

BTW, he is about the same size as Patrick Patterson except he is about 10 pounds heavier and jump a little higher. The kid is definitely athletic and the scouting reports says he has pretty good touch around the rim. Lets hope he become the next Otis Thorpe.

Okay I'll give you that, but their max vertical reaches are practically the same Greg Smith (11'11) and Okafor (12'0).

All I'm saying this guy is not as undersized as people may think.

Here is a video from when he was 18 which was 2 years ago. The kid is a physical specimen.

But for a rim protector, you rather have a tall guy that doesn't have to jump as far because it takes less time for him to block a shot. Also its much more intimidating when he is standing there.

I'm all for him joining the team, just as long as he's better than torayee braggs.
