Men could decide not to screw them...or be trapped.

I am sure TMac and Shawn Kemp wishes they had options when they were trapped for long term child support.

I think men should be able to sign a "Termination of Parental Rights" and not pay child support. Seems fair to me.

I think men should have the right to choose not to get a woman pregnant...oh, wait.

along with a vasectomy so they never have to breed again.

comparing child support to abortion is just offensive.

We should give women that right to refrain as well.

    Oh. Right.

Carry on with the passive aggression.

Man: I am willing to have a baby and raise it with you.
    Woman: Thats great.
Man (after child is born): Just kidding. Peace out.

Thinking this isn't good is passive agressive?

The government helping our kids to keep 'secrets' from their parents
then will later blame the parents if something goes wrong here
    saying
"you should know what your kids are doing"

..this was actually a move by the government to keep access more difficult. Not really sure how I feel about this one.

i don't have the energy to explain what shouldn't need explaining. especially to someone who's been ****ing this chicken for years.

but yes, i'm sure all deadbeat dads don't pay child support because their line of thinking goes "well, she had the option to terminate this pregnancy years ago, why should i pay any money".

it's offensive and if you can't be a man and support the children you created, do us all a favor and lop your junk off, please.

I think we're kinda stuck with "wrap it before you tap it". Hard to see men ever getting any kind of say in the choice to bring a child to term. Although I can see that if you gave men the ability to opt out of financial responsibility of a child, then the burden would then be placed on women to be more judicious and careful about not only having children, but who they have their children with. It's essentially a reproductive responsibility hot potato, and right now men are holding it. Should we be? I'm not sure.

Why can't this exact same argument be applied to women in regard to abortion?

Sorry I meant it for those that wanting to have it be over the counter. Sorry.

I cannot understand why one would want it just on the aisle

there's a not so subtle difference between choosing to terminate a pregnancy, and choosing to have a child. While a pregnant woman has the option to 'opt out' of that pregnancy -- it's a much more complicated decision then a non pregnant woman's choosing to get pregnant.

And since she's the one who gets pregnant, men shouldn't get the option to force her to carry it to term, nor to coerce her (explicitly or economically) to terminate it. That whole privacy of the person thing.

It t'aint fair, I suppose. Theoretically perhaps. But 'tis the way it is. Lots o' stuff aint fair in this whole mating dance. Pick your partner carefully.

it can and has been. men and women should both be a lot more careful in the actions they take that lead to the birth of a child. but just because abortion is currently legal doesn't mean that children should be forced to live without support from their fathers just because those fathers can't have or force abortions.

and this is all based on the faulty premise that women are the only ones who have a say in whether or not they have an abortion. many women choose that route because of the men in their lives. coincidentally, there's a local story this week about a man who tried to pressure a woman into getting an abortion and when she wouldn't, he killed her.

and i also like the idea that there are men out there that a) tove their unborn children so much and think abortion is a travesty because only the woman can have a say, but b) don't want to support said children because woman have the right to have an abortion.

I agree. Very few children die from delinquent child support. The vast majority that are aborted don't make it. It is like comparing shooting a child with smacking it.
