Multiple league executives say the Knicks are now in the lead to land Tyson Chandler, jumping in front of the Warriors.

If the deal goes through, the Knicks use amnesty on Chauncey Billups and move Ronny Turiaf to make room for Chandler, sources

If Knicks amnesty Billups and move Turiaf, they could offer Chandler a four-year deal starting at about $14M.

I saw this coming. I have a feeling NYK would drop him, but not for Chandler.

I wouldn't mind taking Turiaf off their hands for the right price.

A massive mistake by the Knicks if this happens. They must get a top-notch PG to reach the next level and this takes them out of the CP3 sweepstakes next summer.

If they have a plan to get Steve Nash, I take it back.

    Now that's a ridiculous frontcourt.

Carmelo, Amar'e, Tyson Chandler. And they have Grant Hill/Landry Fields for the 2 guard I guess

If they sign Chandler, Melo would be Lebron/Wade's little stepbrother for the rest of his career. And relegate NY to perpetual 1st/2nd round exits.

I would be pumped for this move. I even would like the odds that either Chandler or Amare get injured so that our Knicks pick would land in the lottery.

More believable than $14 million per season for Tyson Chandler, eh?

The Knicks will have Rashard Remorse.

That's what I'm wondering though... How can they cut Billups and afford to get Chandler without having a PG in place? NYK, IMO, are going about this the wrong way. If Chandler would take a 5yr $50Mil, I can see them being able to do something.

Even if they amnesty Billups they don't have the money to beat this offer.

If the money is the same, I don't see why Chandler would pass on the Knicks. As if Chris Paul didn't have enough incentive to join the Knicks... good night.

When LeBron, Wade and Bosh all passed on New York, I thought Morey struck gold... but damn you Amar'e Stoudemire. After a terrible start, they came roaring back, rendering that draft pick flip option worthless. If they get Chandler, that looks like a top 4-5 team in the East, maybe 3-4 if Orlando dumps Dwight Howard -- that draft pick this year won't be much.

I agree with your tweet though Cheezey... one injury does change the game, but they're adding real pieces there.
