You know these numbers that come out never surprise me.. What surprises me is what some members on this board think we can get them for.. Plenty of stupid teams out there with money to dish out..

What if we are unable to sign any Tier 2,3 centers? Will the board blow up on how Morey didn't try?

    It's either

    1. We are not in a position to offer that kind of money to a certain need
    2. The player in question doesn't want to come here anyways and only uses the Rockets to drive up his value
    3. We don't quite have the assets for a trade/extension.

I know I'm not sounding optimistic but we will get players that contribute night in/out. But not the type of players that will make the Houston Rockets a championship team...

If it means CP3 will go there and stay, then it's money well spent. An above average/playoff team, beautiful place to live, great weather.

The Warriors are not one of those money losing teams. They have incredible fan support. They just have had horrendous management.

Of course they're overpaying. But name a single paint protector available ANYWHERE. Trade, draft, FA, whichever you choose. And tell me the one area that would dramatically improve the Warriors? I didn't say they aren't overpaying. I'm just saying they are the one team where such overpayment makes some sense.

I think it's funny how people automatically think that someone getting an offer means that they accept and are already signed.

I think people are failing to see the Warriors could be a really strong team on paper if they play their cards right. Are they overpaying on Chandler? Yes, but will he have to do all the heavy lifting? No, and I think that bodes well for that team. You have a guy like Lee who can rebound with the best of them, and this should help keep Chandler fresh.

Because they're the Warriors and by Monday morning maybe Chandler will remember who that $60 mil is coming from and think of it as 40.

So yes, they did start lower. You forgot the Golden State irrelevancy surcharge.

In response to the posters upset about not getting Chandler (or Nene, or Bosh last summer, etc.):
I've been saying it for 2 years now, y'all are funny to think $$ is the only thing stopping a FA from signing with Houston... no one really wants to play with Kyle Lowry, Kevin Martin, & Luis Scola. I'm not gonna say why, but there is a clear issue NBA players have with those guys being potential teammates and until we blow this team up, why would a 4 or 5 star player seriously come when he has options? Chandler would have been great, but I don't see a single reason he would sign with Houston. Not a single one. Let's be realistic.

Looking like we will end up with Dalembert... Nene and Gasol are probably out of reach at this point without a S&T.

Probably not ideal, but he would be a legit veteran 7 footer and the best post defender we would have (if chuck takes the Sacto deal). I just hope we dont pay a lot for him.

I thought seven footers (not named the Dream) declined in their 30s. Chandler is 29, and he's injury prone. He does not deserve more than $9 million per season.

Because he found a perfect situation last season in Dallas and won a championship. If the Mavs hadn't made the Finals, the money would be different.

The Warriors believe that they've lost Tyson Chandler to the Knicks, sources tell Y! Sports.

15mil a year for Chandler from the Warriors? What are the Knicks offering?

Now it looks like our next year's pick from the knicks will suck...
