I wish they had 2 button mouses, but other than that, the machine is pretty slick. Man, that Steve Jobs was a genius.
I wouldn't be the first one nor the last one to tell you the T-Mac - Yao era was a better era than the Francis era by quite a long shot. Too much faith in those 2 saviors? As if he could have trusted anyone else if even if he wanted to. He had no choice. Shane Battier for the game-winning 3 pointer? LMAO If you disagree, then just look at the last 2 seasons. They were a wreck.

Six pages in and nobody "gets it". Then again, I shouldn't be surprised given how many times tinman has posted. Hard to imagine him derailing a thread! Anyway, this is a solid move by the Hawks. Trust me, I know. This is the team I follow most closely next to the Rockets. Crawford is likely gone and Hinrich is out indefinitely. They have literally no backcourt depth and a complete chump at SF (Marvin Williams). He'll play a role similar to the one he played in Detroit where he does a little bit of everything -- minutes at all three perimeter positions. The Hawks have major issues, no doubt. They need to pick a clear path and make roster moves accordingly. But trust me, signing McGrady to be a useful reserve that can play in a lot of lineup's won't be a move they regret.
What is flawed in that logic? Are you actually saying Tmac carried the team through his HALF of the 22? You guys are absolutely nuts for not seeing tmac for what he is. I understand, I'm the same way about Steve Francis (I know he can make a comeback, I just know he can) but you have got to get real.
Man another T-Mac thread and tinman GOES OFF... I respect you especially as Rockets fan because we need people like you, but come on, it has been few years since he left so get a life As for Tracy signing with the Hawks, that might be actually a good move for the Hawks. They lose Crafword so thay need a scorer. Thary has shown no scoring last year but his playmaking can make them better and ATL is probably the only playoff team who can give him that much freedom. If he can somehow be a productive player especially scorer as he says he can, that should make them better. This may be a great fit.

I would guess that he starts at SF over Marvin Williams.. Hasn't Marvin been a better 6th man in his career?
You put all the blame on t-mac, but then you say that nobody was clutch. So then everybody on that team should be to blame. Seriously do you read before you type? Wasn't there at point in that series where only 4 rockets player had scored. Probably in your head, mcgrady ball hogged the whole game and didn't want any other players to score. Also if I remember that series, Yao got eaten alive by short man boozer. And when we needed Yao the most to get one freaking rebound. Yao was too immobile to do anything. Look, we get it you hate t-mac. There is nothing wrong with hating t-mac. He deserves some of the hate. But you are just completely discrediting the man now. The problem was not just JVG or Adelman, the problem was the GMs as well putting all their hopes on just 2 players. I am still furious about the Shane battier trade. That was a lateral move at best. We gave up a very young prospect that could have shined by watching t-mac play, to an aging player so we could win. We couldn't win out of the first round.
Marvin has been a complete zero ever since getting his big contract. Which is sad considering he was always solid (and improving) up until that point. It was his and the Hawks' lone saving grace for their infamous draft day blunder involving the 2005 Draft. The Hawks will probably amnesty him. He's owed too much money and his role keeps diminishing. Unless they're hanging onto their amnesty provision to see if things go south with JJ's franchise-killing contract, cutting ties with Marvin right now is their most logical play. As for McGrady starting, it won't happen, IMO. Larry Drew likes to shift guys around and seems to be a fan of this new look of starting a defensive/utility big at C that allows Horford to play more at his more natural position at the four and shifts Josh Smith to the three.
ac tually think a backcourt or joe johnson and t-mac could work out well. both are shooting guards who can pass the ball real well.
This signing only makes sense for t-mac if he starts. Otherwise, he could have gone somewhere else with more money. Or you could also think that the Hawks were the only team looking at him and he had no choice. *SIGH* How the mighty have fallen. 3 lottery teams in 3 years. I'm very surprised though, I don't know why t-mac didn't want to return with the knicks again.
Lock for a first round exist No but really a potentially great signing just don't know how he could play 66 games with a back to back every week. Over Under How many games will Tracy play -/+ 40 I am say under And how delirious are the hawks, thinking they can find someone to take Marvin Williams ugly contract. He is someone who the amnesty option was created for, maybe there playing it crazy like a fox to keep that option to use on Joe Johnson. Perfect situation if they trick someone like Charlotte or Sacramento to take Marvin Williams and amnesty Johnson two season from now
I don't want to derail the thread but need to ask you something. Is Josh Smith's best position at PF or SF? IMO, it's clearly PF. I think Horford's best position is also PF. I've felt for a couple of years the Hawks need to make a decision between these two and trade Josh Smith. They could pick up a starting C or PG. Having these two guys on the same team prevents both from fully developing. The other solution is just to keep Horford at C, which I feel is better than moving Smith to SF. Your opinion please.
Reading Hawks forum they are DONE with Marvin Williams. I don't know much about them or his production but they are done with Marvin and actually everybody is exctited about Tracy and they actually want him as a starter
You're on the money. Ideally, he's a four. He can play minutes on the wing but he's FAR better off playing down low. He's athletic and skilled enough to play the three, the problem is (as you are well aware) his shot selection and the fact that he's in love with the long two and three point shot. Josh is like the dude you play pick up with that can have whatever he wants around the basket but is too dumb and lazy to figure out there's a reason why people dare him to take long jumpers (with 18-20 seconds left on the shot clock, no less). The Hawks have one of the worst benches in the league combined with the fact that Marvin has been a complete zero since his big payday. For that reason, I don't really blame Larry Drew for sliding Josh and Horford around (especially whenever Dwight Howard happens to play in your conference). But yeah, the Hawks are a team in limbo. As you mentioned, they basically need to choose between Josh and Horford at the four moving forward. Clearly, the obvious choice is Horford. First priority, though, is figuring out how to utilize your amnesty provision. Do you make the obvious choice right now and send Marvin packing or do you hang onto it in case things go South with JJ and his franchise-killing contract? Decisions, decisions. But regardless, throwing McGrady into the mix helps them. With Hinrich out indefinitely, McGrady is already essentially their backup PG. He's skilled, smart and crafty enough to still make an impact. Plus, given the uncertainty elsewhere on their roster minutes are open elsewhere.
That is unless he's in and out of the lineup because of injury issues which will screw up any chemistry in the process...or unless he takes nights off because of the level (or lack of) competition they're playing that particular night...somehow, I'm not going to trust you on this one. So you believe this team is going to be the one that he won't his bridge with?
