Devin Aromashodu - with all the injuries (micheal jenkins is on end of season ir) he has vaulted to the #2 wide receiver behind percy harvin and he actually got 15 targets last week.
MIA has been playing really well recently, so they'd be the top choice for me. Vick/Young are also prone to turnovers. Definitely do not go with any defense vs Tom Brady. Pick 3 WR: G. Jennings vs Oak J. Nelson vs Oak L. Fitzgerald vs SF A.J. Green vs Hou A. Brown vs Cle
Jennings, Brown, and Im between Fitz and Nelson, Jordy could put better numbers than Fitz, but its a gamble. Maybe the guy you sit between those two will have better numbers.
I would actually take Jax against Tampa, they have been stout against the pass and Freeman still maybe either out or not at 100% if he does play.
thanks. should i keep SD D vs BUF this week? or go with someone from that list along with JAX? (we play 2 Defenses)
Matt Forte replacements, how do you rank them? Mine: 1. T. Gerhart @ Det 2. P. Hillis @ Pitt 3. M. Morris vs Min Hopefully Detroit will continue to self destruct and not jump to a big lead, so Toby can get his carries.
Buyer beware: Jacksonville has lost two starting CBs to year ending injuries and it showed on Monday. They do get after the quarterback, but I think there is a noticeable level of risk with that play. You should consider starting the Miami defense instead, especially if Jeremy Maclin does not return this week.
Nelson. Oakland's pass D is not very good. We don't know how much the Patrick Willis injury will impact the 49ers defense though, so Fitz may have a chance. Either way I think Nelson is definitely the safer play.
My drafting rules are simple: 1. Get the best stud you can at each position, with the following priority: RB, WR, QB, TE. 2. Stay away from guys in bad situations. For example this year, I refused to touch anybody from the Colts with a 10 foot pole, regardless of who they were.
I am not hawking this thread. I just got back on and checked it. Anyway, I think that this strategy has a lot of basis on the value based system of drafting. The thought is that since a stud running back is scarce it behooves you to get one early and often. This strategy can work, especially if studs like aaron rodgers gets injured. But in the same vain, for it to really show benefit you have to win (luck, maybe) get two running backs that demolish the competition for the whole year, and even then, when guys like Helu/Stewart/Murray start killing it you are going to be losing on your value based drafting. A lot of drafting mistakes can be made up for on the waiver wire, and that's the problem. If you are trying to protect your running back draft, it might work to your advantage to scoop up a fair number of rookies and second teir guys, just so that a guy can't completely whiff on a running back and then pick up helu and beat you with Aaron Rodgers. The key benefit of value based drafting is if everyone plays that way, you can kinda keep from reaching on a player too high, and myabe sneak in a stud in the middle rounds. However, say you threw conventional wisdom out the window and you drafted the following: 1. Aaron Rodgers 2. Jimmy Graham 3. Wes Welker 4. Fred Jackson 5. Gronk This team build from non-conventional wisdow would have dominated the season. Which proves that RBs aren't even close to being the be all and end all. Of course, if you use my strategy and drafted say: Lesean McCoy, Frank Gore, and then went down the list getting about 7 running backs, you have a decent shot at getting value for your running back tandem. The point is value based drafting is undermined by the waiver wire in shallow drafts, and drafts where the guy getting the backs isn't willing to scoop up the guys that have upside.
Sorry JeapordE is right, I missed the Monday night game cause I was at the Jay-z concert (totally forgot) so I didn't get to see how they performed on defense. I would still play SD's defense and I'd put it as a toss up between the Jags and Dolphins, Freeman's status is still up in the air but he has yet to throw a pass in practice.
Rule 1: Draft Rodgers You could probably have every other spot filled with the 10th best scoring player in that position and still win your league. Besides that, it's been a topsy turvy year. Half the league has a backup or rookie QB starting. The peak at RB still stayed the same but had to make room for Fred Jackson of all people. Two whipping boys in Bush and Wells are now sitting pretty as RB1s. WR still remains a carousel, and if you don't have Graham Gronk, Gates or Gonzo, there's a grand canyon of points between the next highest scoring TE. I guess this unpredictable stuff is why one both loves and hates fantasy football.
Ryan Mathews or McGahee? I can't trust Mathews for some reason but he has a good matchup against the Bills and he's had a couple good games in a row... Also, Miles Austin vs Antonio Brown? Afraid that they're gonna take it slow with Austin since he's just returning from injury. Also, Cleveland gives up the least fantasy points to WR's. Thanks in advance for any advice.
Gresham, Houston D has had some problems with bigger tE's that can move. Graham, Gonzo, and Lewis if he could catch. Denver is the more reliable play especially if Von plays. unfortunately we don't yet know how that hand injury will affect his ability to shed a block or tackle. I'd go for that because divisional games can be fantasy dynamite. Seattle's best pass rusher is a boom or bust player and the run defense has given up 100 yard games to backs worse than sjax. its crazy, te's considered to be elite like jermichael and v.Davis putting up blanks and getting outperformed by Fred freakin Davis.
who do you think will be the Texans biggest producer in the air this week? OD, Jacoby or Walter? or perhaps Mr. TD Joel Dreesen? I agree Denver is the play. They have been on fire, and Chicago is going to be anemic offensively this week.
Need some serious help this week. Playoff spot on the line. QB2 (Pick 1): Palmer @ GB Tebow @ Chi *I have Rodgers at QB1. We start 2 QB's in the league. WR3 (Pick 1): S. Moss @ NE M. Williams (TB) @ Jac M. Austin @ NYG A. Boldin @ Ind *I have Wallace and Cruz at my WR1 and WR2. TE (Pick 1): Gresham @ Hou Keller @ KC Winslow @ Jac *With F. Davis on suspension, I have to pick up one of these 3 guys on the waiver wire.
