If they make the playoffs, it'll be as the AFC-W winner, which means we couldn't see them in the WC or divisional round.

...I did forget the Jets, though. I think we could beat them at home. Yates isn't Tom Brady, but Dirty Sanchez is ripe for one of his patented 4-INT games against our defense.

To me, they're almost identical. Both elite offenses (NO edge in yards, GB slight edge in points) led by dynamic quarterbacks who operate from the spread. Both weak defenses in the bottom 10 (NO better in yards, GB slight edge in points) and are awful against the pass. They already played once, in Green Bay, and it came down to the final play in which the Saints came up a yard short. If and when they play again, I think it'll be another shootout decided in the closing minutes.

The one thing the Packers have in their favor is that they seem more disciplined. Statistics aside, the Saints have the inexplicable Ravens disease in which they occasionally come out flat and lose to terrible opponents (Rams, Bucs). The Packers don't seem to have the problem of "getting up" for anyone. It's easy to say it won't be an issue come playoff time (when every game is big), but that lack of focus could manifest itself in other ways.

It's nice to know that it's been done (I didn't remember those two games), and I hope that we can do the same if we have to, but the Patriots mystique still haunts me and I would really hate to have to play in Foxboro.

    LOL

If the Ravens stumble against the Chargers or Bengals and help us slip into the #2 slot and a bye, and we win a divisional game at home to make the AFC Championship, AND Team Jesus upsets Pittsburgh (WC) and the Patriots in Foxboro to make it......

Watt, Barwin, and Thor team up to break him like bread

Packers are the more consistent team. NO is great at home, but not so much on the road. Packers vs. Saints in the Dome, I wouldn't know who'd win. Packers vs. Saints at Lambeau or a neutral site, I'm picking GB, even though it was close week 1.

NO is basically unbeatable at home, but vulnerable at home. Packers are more consistent.

Packers @ Saints I think would be a tossup.

@Lambeau or neutral site, I'd say GB would win that 7-8 out of 10 times, even though the Saints played them really close Week 1.

I'd love to see the Jets. I'm hoping to see either them or the Titans at some point in the playoffs.

Packers and Saints are clearly the two best teams in the NFC. I know some would argue that the 49's are in the mix. In your heart, you know the Packers are in the finals. The AFC is not nearly as clear: Ravens, Pats, Steelers, Texans, Jets, maybe even Titans (God forbid!) Denver!?

If I was making a pick for the AFC champ right now I'd say Ravens, although it's wide open. I really feel without our injury situation, the Texans would have a great shot at the Super Bowl. It will be a great feeling getting into the playoffs, and it's the NFL even with a rookie qb, anything's possible.

Forgot to say that with the Texans defense, we will be in any game, regardless of who we play.

Only way I take BAL to go to the Super Bowl, is if they don't play play a single AFC playoff game away from M&T Bank Stadium.

They will NOT win a road playoff game.

That's arguably been their biggest playoff obstacle over the last decade. Well, that and epic collapses, but yeah, they generally end up in the playoffs every year on the road. Their home crowd of drunken rednecks and ghetto ass people, none of who can speak English without a horrible Baltimore accent, is a tremendous asset to that team.

Omar Little disapproves of your Baltimore slander.

Steelers would definitely be my choice to represent the AFC in the superbowl. They got a defense, offense, and the experience to win on the road.

The Steelers would be your choice??? Are you Houstonian?

Not that I'm predicting it, but if I had a CHOICE: well the Houston Texans would be my choice to represent the superior conference in the SB.

I have a great idea: naming the Texan's defense Wild Thing. Can you imagine the defensive unit coming on to the field with the music blaring and the crowd singing "wild thing you make my heart sing?" Yeah, I knew you would like it.

I am sure Kubiak's still giving his usual meaningless responses, but any word on Vickers for Sunday?
