Rolling withThabeet would not be as bad as you think. The guy can play good defense. Plus, if they resign Chuck, they would make a good defensive PF/C combo.

If Morey starts Thabeet, it would be to tank the season rather than see what he's worth.

Chuck and Thabeet combo would be insanely ineffective on the offensive side of the ball.

I agree with Simmons, Nene is completely overrated here.

    1c. Nene
This one scares the hell out of me. What am I getting, exactly? He's 29 years old and has a surgically repaired knee. He played nearly as many games the past three years (260, including playoffs) as he did for his first six seasons (315, including playoffs). He's not exactly an emotional leader — those Nuggets teams melted down as much as anyone, and you'd have to consider it at least somewhat telling that Carmelo Anthony pushed his way off a team that had a top-five center on it. The biggest thing for me: If he's a top-five center, then why is Nene such a lousy rebounder? These past three seasons, he averaged 32.6, 33.6 and 30.5 minutes per game … and 7.8, 7.6 and 7.6 rebounds. He wasn't even a top-25 rebounder last year. (FYI: LeBron nearly outrebounded him!) He also doesn't protect the rim that well; for instance, Dwyane Wade (1.14) Channing Frye (1.01), Shane Battier (0.99) averaged more blocks than Nene (0.97) last season.

With Nene, you're getting an athletic big man who makes 60 percent of his shots, as well as someone who makes opposing teams say, "They have a center" … and that's about it. At 29, you are who you are. He can't quite take over games; he's never going to do what Chandler did in last year's playoffs from a protecting-the-rim standpoint; he needs extra rebounding help or you're getting killed on the boards; he's never won anything; and oh, you better hope his knees hold up. For me, it's no contest — not only would I rather have Gasol or Chandler, I'd rather overpay Jordan (at least he's an up-and-comer) for 50 to 60 percent of what Nene will probably cost (four years, $74.3 million without a sign-and-trade).

    Bill Simmons is an idiot.

You do realize he has us trading our 1st round pick AND Patterson for the Brandon Haywood?

Maybe, maybe not. They are both good passers from the post. They would be great defensively against the Dwight's, Gasol's and the Amare types.

All of the free agent bigs are asking for way too much. Neither of them are worth what they are asking for.

You would be essentially playing 3 on 5 on the offensive side of the ball.

No D would respect a Thabeet/Hayes combo and would just double team Lowry or Martin/Budinger.

I mostly agree with Simmons, but yea, that one was a bit weird.

Dalembert is going to be 4-5 mil cheaper than Nene and Chandler is asking for.

And seriously, where is all this love for Thabust coming from? I know Thabust is at 5 mil compared to Dalembert, but Dalembert on those crappy teams has put up decent numbers that would of helped us last season.

He just needs to be on a squad that has hardworking and chemistry-driven ethic like the Rockets.

And I thought Thabust wasn't getting any good reviews of trying to improve during this offseason....

You do know that Thabeet has a decent 10 foot jumper? He shouldn't use it much, but it's still there.

Playing Thabust would mean that we are essentially tanking the season. I would gladly watch a season of suckitude if it meant even the slight possibility of drafting a guy like Davis, Drummond or Barnes.

I don't know....I would love to tank too, but that's just not in me if we can get a proven NBA center like Dalembert that McHale can groom. Thabust can just ride the bench. and learn or play his ass in D-League.

If tanking, I think we should go after Drummond. He has the height and weight, but he could also be a bust like Thabust. Going after Davis (I think he's a PF even if he has height) and Barnes (why do we need him if we drafted Morris) would be a waste.

Barnes and Davis have superstar potential. I can see them both making at least 5 all-star teams and maybe even an MVP award.

With that logic, the Cavs shouldn't have drafted Irving because they already had Baron Davis and Ramon Sessions.

Wow, if you can see that, PM me the lottery numbers for the next big Powerball lottery so I can quit my damn job and move to my own island.

Remember Thabust.....when he came out, every reacted as if his size and skill level makes his potential off the charts. He sure blew up alright....

Every report about his this offseason has been positive and about how good he is looking, let's get him to camp and hear from the Rockets and go from there.

Having 2 bigs, Dalembert and Thabest would be great for this team.

Warriors GM on Bay Area radio this a.m. and he sounded *very* confident about Chandler signing. We'll see. Marc Jackson might be a good recruiter for free agents, and playing with Steph Curry isn't half bad.

You seriously trying to compare the hype Thabeet got out of college compared to Anthony Davis or Harrison Barnes?

Chandler is from California, so it makes sense.
