Nobody is untouchable.

So you are saying if we had a trade for Howard and Otis Smith asked for Patterson, you would turn it down?

SMH.

There is no one who should be untradeable if it gets you a superstar caliber player in return, the key is who are you trying to trade them for.

Patterson is the perfect complimentary D. Howard needs. Can stretch the floor, Rebound and be another Defensive Presence clogging up the paint with him.

Can't think like that.

I'd trade anybody on our roster for Howard or CP3.

Moot point since apparently no one values our players highly like Morey does.

A shame really.

I love Patterson too, and think he has huge upside, but if we are trying to attract a superstar to build a contending team around, Patterson has to be made available. Only if we are blowing up the team and starting a 2-3yr rebuilding process (which Les seems to be dead-set against) is moving Patterson a bad idea.

No one. There is no one on the team they "must not" trade, however, to play along, I'd go:

1a. Patrick Patterson
1b. Donatas Motiejunas
3. Marcus Morris

I'm a sucker for players that still have tremendous upside (in my mind), and Motiejunas won me over with the Dwight Howard thing. Let the Malick Badiane-esque projections continue...

Lowry, if he's still the 3pt shooter he was 2nd half of the season. Even if we could land a star PG, Lowry is a great back-up.

I would trade anyone for the right deal.

However, based upon upside:

1. Patterson
2. Morris
3. Thabeet
4. Flynn

I really want to roll with the young guys and see where it goes....

Unless we're bringing in a star I wouldn't want to let go of Patrick Patterson, Courtney Lee, or Kyle Lowry.

This team is not a championship contender team, so nobody is untouchable for the right price.

The only untouchables are the superstars in this league, and there are only a handful of them. None of them wears a Rockets jersey.

To upgrade the team you trade who you have too. But damn Pat is electrifying. Anyone who is young I'd love to keep and build through the draft keeping a core of Lowry/Lee/Morris/Pat/Thabust. Trade everyone else for picks /expiring people. If you have the chance to grab an upgrade at any position go for it, if not that team is bad enough to get you a decent pick and let Morey work his draft magic in the 1-7 range instead of 14.

I think any of these guys has the chance of being our go to "star" Drummond Davis Jones Sullinger Barnes Lamb.

In light of the objections, maybe we should condition our responses with "...except in a trade for a franchise player."

So, say in a trade for Bogut or Tony Parker or Iguodala or some other good second-fiddle sort of player, who then is untouchable? Anyone?

Besides superstars, a person gets an untouchable designation by having promise that isn't yet defined. Once you know their value, you can trade it for equal value. Right now, we have a lot of young guys who don't have a good value set on them, so I'd rather not trade them (unless the counterparty has unrealistically high expectations of them), while our young vets like Lowry and Martin would be fairly priced and tradeable.

Bogut would be a weird situation. He's an amazing player but not someone who will attract another star in my mind, and can't carry your team. If we were able to get him and Moute I think a starting lineup of Lowry/Martin/Moute/Scola/Bogut is competitive in the west now. Moute makes up for Martins liabilities on D and same for Bogut with Scola.

I'll go with Lowry because I can see him wearing the captain armband for the team for years to come.

rockbox posted a video of Donuts in his GARM thread here: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=6435155&postcount=369

I know it's only one game, but what I saw from it was very disappointing. The dude looked extremely ordinary. Can't jump, predictable low post move, and no hustling on rebounds.

I see you must be a pro-tank person, like me

Maybe I am giving Kyle Lowry too much credit, but I think he will have an All-Star year this year. He has been working SO hard in a summer where it's easy to let yourself go. I think he will average 18/8 +. He is going to be Most improved player this year, write that down. What a bargain of a contract.

Not saying he is untouchable. I don't think anyone is untouchable on our team, but he has a lot of upside (despite how long he has been in the NBA).

I find it surprising his name is not mentioned often. Now, if we get CP3 or Deron, which is unlikely, then of course Patterson becomes the most untouchable.

D-Mo, Patterson, M. Morris, Flynn, Lowry would be great to keep.

I think if we're going to go after Dwight or CP3 then getting Chandler and/or keeping C. Lee become very important.

All those scenarios are unlikely, but not completely out of a possibility.

I think the players I would like to trade the most are KMart and Scola.
