lars, the lockout must've affected your memory. We were the first person to talk to Chris Bosh, how'd that work out? We can't even make the top three for the Hornets while offering combinations with Lowry, Martin, Scola, Patterson, 1st rounders.. at what point does one think, "hmm it might be time to re-think this strategy?" The reason why chandler worked in Dallas is because of Dirk... hes not going to do anything but give us a little more wins and a 8th seed. Band-aid move.
Nene and Chandler are not going to get us anywhere this season anyway. They're looking for major pay while both are limited on either end. I rather have a Deke solution to center position in Dalembert who is big, can block shots and also put up 20+. Bring back Chuck as a back-up and we're set for this year. Who knows, Thabeet might suprise us At least we will have 3 centers. Chuck can play the 4 as well since Patterson nor Scola can guard Nowitzki, Garnett and such. If Chuck doesn't return say goodbye to the playoffs. So bring back Chuck and bring in Dalembert and I'm happy
Damn, we're going for broke for these 2. I think we should just stick with the cheaper alternative of Dalembert and roll with our current squad. At least we will have someone to clog that middle up and not worry about his scoring.
While the market is still up in the air, it's kind of good news that no one else has come to Nene with an offer that blows whatever the Rockets are offering out of the water (he probably would have taken it already), or if the report is right, even a $14 mil a year offer. In the end, aside from Denver (who can offer an extra year), it seems most of the other teams will offer Nene roughly the same $ and he'll have to choose based on other factors.
Dalembert ain't gonna come cheap either. I'd rather roll with Thabeet TBH than Dalembert. Also it's reported that he's out of shape and has lacked work ethic in the past. A textbook example of a contract year player.
In the end it will down to Nene choosing between the bigger payday with the Nuggets or a better chance to win with the Nets or Rockets (although granted neither are championship contenders).
