I made a few mistakes. The first is that I relied on a stone rookie (Lance Kendicks) when I could have had Gronk. Basically I was relying on 2 rookies (sam bradford and lance). I also didn't have a backup plan for Josh Freeman. QBs are difficult to really change what you are doing. But if I were to do it over I would have drafted 3 qbs minimum. I also believe that, if I did anything right at all, it was picking up so many rbs. Other than Antonio Brown and Decker, Julio Jones and AJ Green, there wasn't really a wide reciever that was a good long shot pick up that was known in the draft. However, most of my rbs all at some point helped me throughout the year. My new rule is: don't waste so many picks on wide receivers and instead focus on strengthening your qb position, your rbs and your tes. And wait for the free agaent wire for the wide receivers and hope you get the stud.
My take is that for QB, after Rodgers/Brees/Brady (Newton was a surprise), there's a huge drop off in consistency and production. If you can't grab one of those 3/4, you might as well draft other positions. Same with Gronk/Graham for TE.
Yeah that's kinda what I was saying. In the first 6 picks of an nfl draft in 12 or 14 league drafts you need a qb. Preferably one that you get in the 6ths round, since .... by the 6th round, every KNOWN performer is already gone you better have 5 reliable position players other than qb. This is the balanced approach to drafting. The other approach is what happens year after year and that is a guy bets high on a qb and then tries to find gold in the later rounds. If you have 3 top guys such as Aaron Rodgers, Fred Jackson and Gronk, you can field anybody and still win 90 percent of your games. I prefer the balanced approach and making sure that I get top rbs and wide receivers. Next year, I might at some point, draft every receiver from GB other than Nelson and Jennings and wait. Or do the same with Tom Brady. Just go down the line regardless of depth chart.
Wholly CRAPPPPP, I made the playoffs. I had just assummed that one guy was going to make it on points the way the system set up and the way the system ran down I was going to be up against this other guy. I know I'm not being specific but our playoff system what a hybrid points/ record league. And two teams each got in.
I love clownin, I hate on my brother all the time when I kick his ass or on my boys too, I'm hella competitive. But to say something after the fact, I mean I tell people that's a dumb trade when they do it not 2 weeks down the line when so and so gets injured or this guy finally explodes for 200 and 2 tds. I mean it's not like you saw that coming. And if you didn't know they call me: Spoiler
You also said you made the deal to screw the commissioner! My team couldn't have taken a hit like johnson provided for the 5 or so weeks he was a non-factor after the trade. Rice has been better. But I do think if Green can get healthy and if you are still in the playoff hunt and if Wayne starts to play better, you broke even, lol!
Again this is a league with maybe 3 serious players and 5 idiots. My roster is stupid good. QB: Cam / Romo RB: CJ / Lynch / McCoy / Wells WR: AJ Green / A. Brown / L. Robinson / J. Nelson / A. Johnson / J. Jones TE: Gates / Hernandez K: Cundiff DEF: Pitt
It looks like a just lost Fred Davis for the season. The only upside to it is that I have Helu and Moss who might get a bump from this. Also, on another front, my Helu/Stewart/McCoy/Mathews dilemma only cost me 10 points. I knew that every one of these guys would be strong plays. I just wish I could play all four from here on out.
Wow, I hope there's no money at stake here. This is exactly why I love playing in money leagues, the level of competition is always risen to another level. You got that in the bag.
What's your take on: Devin Aromashodu I picked him up a few weeks ago. I always thought that he and ponder ala vince young and riley cooper had chemistry. Now that Michael Jenkins is out of the pitcher, does he upgrade to a high level flex, a low level #2, or what?
For what it is worth, I believe that next year will be the first year in fantasy that there is serious discussion about taking a TE in the first round of the draft. Gronk is that good, and plus the tides are shifting on the mandate to take a certain position first overall. The running backs that will have staying power will be: McCoy, Foster (possibly CJ2k) and Ray Rice, and AD. I think: AD Rice McCoy Foster CJ Rodgers Cam Calvin Andre Nelson Gronk Fitz Brees
Actually, check that. I might sub Graham for Nelson. Also, I think that Kenny Britt or MJD could slide into there in some drafts. Will it happen? Probably not. But I do think that Graham and Gronk will go no later than round 2.
Fckin Brandon Pettigrew!!!! Ugh he couldn't get me 5 points vs New orleans and screwed me over big time. It made me tied for 8th place and I beat the guy Im tied with in 8th place but he had more total points accumulated over the course of the year than me by how much??? 4 points!!!!! UGH 1 league RIP 2 left
8 out of 14 Im was tied at 8th with another guy. Head to head Im up 2-0 on this guy but he had more total points through the year than me...he had 4 more points.
Who would seem like the better ppr pickup for a bench filler thru the playoffs? Doug Baldwin (offense sucks but has the opportunity to be a true #1 now that, Rice is on IR?) or Brad Smith (offense was good, fell off, and is picking up again. He also got 10 targets last game not sure if that could become a norm tho) Have a spot to play with but not sure who to put as highest priority.
should i keep WAS D vs NE or go with one of these: NO @TEN MIA vsPHI ARI vsSF STL @SEA CLE @PIT CAR vsATL JAX vsTB
