Yes, they profit from providing your care at a price you can't afford and insurance profits by helping you pay for it.

You are being dishonest. The article is not about more affordable care. It's about the destruction of the industry. It's what the majority of the article, including the title, opening paragraph and the closing statements are all about.

the article is about requiring more money to be spent on actual healtcare. you're right, that may not be more affordable, but its not about destruction of the industry, and it doesn't celebrate it.

The article refers to this portion of the bill as a bomb exploding.

What happens when bombs explode? They destroy. Is that correct?

He uses this phrase to describe what this "bomb" that "explodes today" will do:
In his article title, after saying that this bomb that will lead to the death of large parts of the industry explodes today he uses one word: "Hallelujah."

You can say that isn't celebrating all you want. That is dishonest. The article is absolutely 100% celebrating the death of large parts of the industry.

    yes, because he said bomb.

its not surprising that the point you are missing is that the "bomb" is sarcastic. see during the healthcare debate, wingnuts predicted "bombs" like death panels.

the use of the word is sarcastic. instead of "bomb" this part of the legislation is helpful

you're welcome for explaining that for you

Not helpful to the industry (again which he states himself). He also uses the death panel reference in the article to add to his colorful ways of illustrating that industry is going to die (in large part) as a result of this section of the bill.

This author may celebrate that he believes this will ultimately lead to better/more affordable/more accessible care for all. It is certainly a defensible position that it will in fact lead to all three of those. This article barely touches on that theme however. It is directly about how this section of the bill will impact the industry. His analysis? It will die. Hallelujah!

That may also be true. He is celebrating the death of that industry however which troubles me personally because I know many people who are going to have their jobs go away. People who have spent decades in the industry, people who changed educational choices based on their success in the industry, etc. I don't celebrate the death of the industry because I realize what it will do to those people.

This article didn't celebrate the potential for better care. I celebrate that and have said as much on this forum. I won't celebrate, whether it is necessary or not, that thousands of people are going to find their industry dead because of this "bomb." I certainly won't say "Hallelujah!"

but that's why he is predicting the industry is going away, because this law will lead to a single payor system because insurance companies won't be allowed to be profitable.

if you are in favor of a single payor system, you are in favor of blowing up the industry. there are a lot of people in favor of it.
