Imagine somehow keeping Martin and Scola. Cp3, Scola, and Martin. Man it'll be a flop extravaganza! We'll be the new version of the Jazz!

All kidding aside, if we can get Paul as the gateway to D12 while keeping Martin, this team would be pretty lethal. ..ah..Dreams...

Wait a minute. Isn't CP3 somewhat injury prone? Most of you would like to gut your team for him??

to steal from dd...wow - really?! he's one of my least favorite. i know whining about whiners in the nba is like whining about whores at a prostitution conference, but he's got a perpetual whine look on his face. add to that he seems like a pretty dirty player.

Not gonna sit here and say Lowry is better than CP, but I agree with most of what the people who would rather keep Lowry are saying.

That money difference is big and the production difference may look big, but put Paul in our system and Lowry in NO's system and I don't think their production would be that far off. Add in the possibility of CP walking at the end of the year and I too would rather focus on a center.

And once again in true clutchfans fashion, people just overlook the circumstances that lead our team to a 40ish win record. I swear some people just look at the record and thats as far as they need to go for proof that the Rockets suck.

When are people going to wake up and realize that we have played with an incomplete team for a couple years now. IF we were only winning 40 games AND yao was actually playing THEN I would agree with you, but you can't continually blame a team for sucking when they are playing with their biggest man down and no real replacement for him.

I would definitely throw whatever it takes to get Paul, even it ends up being just a rental.

If he stays, great we managed to get our superstar and get on the track to being one of those teams that gets to play in the big kids sandbox.

If he leaves, sucks, but at least we will get to rebuild the way Les Alexander won't let us right now.

This would be an interesting way to tank. We own our own pick in the 2013 draft, right?

I don't think Les is a fan of rentals.

I love Kyle Lowry, but if a talent like Chris Paul is on the market, you have to try to get him.

Unless the Rockets give up unprotected picks for him.

yeah, i'm leaning towards this, but i don't think it's the end of the world if we don't get him.

The only reason I go for this is because of the slim chance that it gives us to keep Paul and get Howard. Because Paul by himself is not going to win you anything (a superstar PG doesn't win championships...even Magic had to have Kareem).

But I'll go against the grain here and say it would absolutely suck to gut our team for Paul and end up losing him. We've accumulated a lot of pieces and there's no reason we can't trade up in the draft targeting a star as opposed to tanking.

we have tried every draft to trade up and it never happend. Like people have stated before our pieces are good for contending teams not teams looking to rebuild.

    Magic CEO just stepped down.

I think there is a chance both players get moved before the season starts.

I am assuming the 9th is the first day trades can go down as well.

Dwight will be dealt before January. Anything after that and he would not be able to sign for a full extension. Chris Paul will probably be dealt first b4 the season although he will be able to extend wherever he goes by opting out then resigning at the end of the year that is when teams will pay the most.

LOL their were reports that their CEO made some late night drunk calls to convince Dwight to stay.

I say he's out. I'm freaking worried one of the LA teams might swoop both of them.

Dwight going to Lakers and CP3 going to Clippers.

After thinking a little more about this, I think we should offer the Magic anyone on the roster except for Martin for Howard. Those two guys' games would fit together perfectly, and it would solve our excessive depth situation.

I think that this one move could make us into a championship contender this year and could possibly make us good enough to convince Dwight to stay. I don't think the same would be true in a move for CP3.

Plus, Houston has a tradition of dominant centers. Dwight would be perfect.

I agree. We already have our CP3. And that is not even accounting for what we will lose acquiring him in the process.
