But if they both sign with Houston, it's OK?

I think its easier to accept when players are traded to one team to form a dynasty than players themselves deciding to team up. That way it can be concluded that the owners are dumbasses vs. Players are weak minded douchebags who don't want to compete against one another.

If the NBA trades Paul to the Lakers the conspiracy talk would/should become deafening again.

I'll add on to my last post:
Owners/ GMs are dumbasses IF they trade stars to form a dynasty to a team that has always been a dynasty.

But in the case that they get traded to a team with just a alot of assets *ahem then we can also say that the league has some genius GMs that are capable of pulling off something epic like that.

Do you realize where you are? Truthfully though, the outrage would me mostly aimed at the fact that it would be LA they would be going to. One of the NBA's biggest criticisms is that the league as a whole panders to Los Angeles and Kobe Bryant.

The Lakers are finally looking like they're about to take a major step back and have to go through a rebuilding stage like every NBA team usually has to do to become relevant again and then this happens?

The cries that the NBA is fixed would be deafening. Do you really think that same thing would be said if they both somehow ended up in Houston? Also, didn't we just lose two months of NBA to supposedly give the league more parity? Again,

NBA GM says Magic would let Dwight Howard walk for nothing "rather than take garbage the Lakers would offer. Nobody wants their old guys."

Yeah, that is what has had me confused. Couple good, 30 year old players on the back-end of their careers and a Suh-level thug that has the knees of a 40. How do the Lakers have anything considered worth trading for? The most valuable trade chip they have is the capability to take on bad contracts.
