    Is Tyson Chandler really that much better than Dalembert? If Chandler was on the Kings and Dalembert was on the Mavs, who would be getting the big contract?

    He's an okay center to have around, but with that kind of attitude and outlook towards the game, I don't want him around all of our guys and their dedication to the sport and competitiveness

    I would MUCH rather take Dalembert at around the MLE than spend 10+ mil on Tyson Chandler.

    Nene is a totally different story, though.

    Very good point. I think Chandler is solid but his stock is way over hyped due to the playoff run. Before last season Chandler wasn't even talked about. Dalembert on the other hand was on a bad team that already has an up and coming center in Cousins.

    On the bright side, theres a FA who actually wants to come to Houston. That hasn't happened in a while.

    The Mavs would not have won the championship with Dalembert. Haywood would have been starting.

    Chandler is just a much better player than Dalembert (who has regressed).

    Exactly.

    He's not worth more than what Chuck Hayes was paid last season. I'd rather give the money to Chuck Hayes.

    Dalembert is a 7 footer and now nobody wants a center? Plus, compare his ages and durability with the other possible acquisitions:

    Dalembert = 30
    Chandler = 29
    Nene = 29
    Haywood = 32

    The stat I love the most is he played in 80+ games the past five seasons.

    Avgerage games played for past five seasons:

    Dalembert = 81.6
    Chandler = 64.4
    Nene = 62.8
    Haywood = 62.4

    I'd much rather bring in Dalembert a guy that will cost you less and whats to be here than to overpay for a quick-fix in Nene and Chandler and will give us less to spend in next years off-season with the great draft and free agency of 2012.

    Sacramento Kings? Yup then this is almost a done deal.

    Houston's #1 farm system. Not my preferred choice. :(

    Dalembert reminds me of the Haitian drug lord from Gone Baby Gone.

    He's probably chilling in his mansion with some Saigon/Bangkok whores while on the phone telling his agent "b****es love the cheddar".

    So basically no one else is willing to offer him anything more than the minimum so he reckons the Rockets will be desperate enought to? And they might?

    I still say the better options are

    1. Try to trade for Dwight Howard(pipe dream)

    2. Try for Nene or Chandler in free agency with a high value contract(one front ended and flexible, much like Scola's)

    3. to trade for a center with a less lengthy existing contract(to have the amnesty at your disposal). Al Jefferson, Robin Lopez, Anderson V., Kaman, Biedrins all could be in play this season in trade talks.

    4. Sign this years Marcin Gortat in Fesenko. Should be more than willing to come to Houston to start on a value contract. Still gives you the ability to resign Chuck

    5. Re-sign Chuck and play young bigs

    6. Play Jordan Hill and Thabeet to tank the hell out of the season. Give Clutchfans what they want.

    7. Sign last resort in Dalembert
