Matt Turk is with the Jags right? Wasn't one of our TE's or Kevin Walter pulling double duty as a punter back in college?

^^^Turk was with the Jags, released early in the season.

I don't think you are trying to be, but you're coming off as very racist. You mention our tight ends(honkeys) and our ONE white receiver as a potential punter?

I bet Jacoby Jones is a great punter.

Yup... he couldn't cut it there, either.

The issue with Turk was that he had zero touch in his older age. He was good for a 25 yard punt off the side of his foot deep in his own territory. Then, if he was on the opposing 40, he'd bomb it into the stands.

Hartmann wasn't a great punter, by any stretch. He sometimes struggled to pin opponents inside the 20, and his hang time has frequently been too short. But he always seemed to have a strong leg, both on punts and kickoffs. You could always count on him for consistency in striking the ball well.

On the other hand, Turk wasn't consistent at anything, and now he's older. Pass. There are plenty of young punters looking for a shot.

Is Matt Dodge still a free agent? I'd rather bring him in than Matt Turk!

    Code:

Just don't let him kick to DeSean Jackson with the game on the line.

I was mentioning how worried I was about this in the game day thread. We had been having trouble getting good field position on returns, but Hartmann, as he had been doing for weeks now, was consistently kicking touchbacks on our punts. He was helping out the defense immensely. Him being out is going to hurt more than people think a missing punter could.

Exactly right.. the majority of his punts this year gave the opposing offenses long fields to work with. Is the acl injury on his kicking leg?

I remember hearing preliminary reports about it being on his non-kicking leg, but if everyone here is saying that Kubes says he's out for the year then it makes little difference as far as this season is concerned.

Wouldn't your planting leg be more important than your kicking leg?

The Reliant field softened him up to the point where it reached a breaking point in TB.
