Biggest X factor is Turner. If he's not fully healthy, Phillips will be able to tee off on Ryan. Otherwise, I think the Falcons can drive the ball and put up 20+ points on us. They also have a great run defense, so Yates needs to be able to stretch the field or we are screwed.

I wish I had a better feeling about this game. I just don't know what to expect from the offense. I fear that if we get down by a couple of scores then that'll be it.
Only way this defense gives up a huge lead is if the offense turns it over in their territory. Defense will keep this game close. Offense needs to keep the ball moving and get points. I expect some red zone stalls, thus lots of FG opportunities... have to make them hold up.
Moes is trying to return to his old schtick, but what he doesn't realize is that living life has changed him forever, and it's going to be too hard to return to his old ways. Yes, the Raiders are a decent team. Yes, they beat Houston this year. Yes, they have a better quarterback. What matters, though, is that Houston has a better overall record. Houston will make the playoffs while Oakland looks like they're going to miss out to Denver. Houston is also set up better for the long term. Trolling aside, I'm looking forward to today's game. I'm not expecting a win, or anything like that. I'm not counting the Texans out, either. I'm just excited to watch a good team face adversity and try to conquer it.

Good post. People forget that the biggest obstacle going into this year was improving a HISTORICALLY bad defense. All the questions about "do we have the personnel for a 3-4", and "is Wade Phillips still competent" have not only been answered... they've been FORGOTTEN since this team has performed so well. With this defense, this team now has at least a 3 year window to put together a serious run. Sure, injuries are going to affect that one way or the other... and how the rest of the league plays out also can change things as well (ie, whether the Colts become relevant again). But, they have to be able to pat themselves on the back knowing that they were able to turn around the defense, they built this team with depth so that they've been able to withstand some really bad injuries, and they have the draft picks and potential cap space to continue to IMPROVE this team... combined with a relatively young core of elite players.

That's great man. I took my 8 year old Daughter to her first game last season, it was the Kansas City game. It was so bad ass that her first game was one of the best comebacks in Texans history, and a win! Have a good time!
