    Maybe this is a thread of its own, but I'd like to get the opinion of the boxing fans on this board about Margarito's legacy. I'm a (very) casual boxing fan, but it seems that Margarito is a very polarizing figure.

    He won some slugfests, but those were largely thanks to tainted hand wraps. Now, he has gotten exposed and is getting pummeled in each of his big fights.

    So will he go down as a good fighter as his record would suggest or as a fraud because of the scandal? Something in between?

    i doubt he was using the illegal handwraps during his entire career but it will be in the back of peoples minds.

    Margarito is not a real boxer and Cotto got knocked the career out of him by pacman.
    Also he hasn't fought anyone worthwhile since.
