    Simple Question...I'm so conflicted.

    If my 3 previous siblings were born in Texas, and I was conceived in Texas (born in Illinois 7 mos later).

    Am I Texan!

    I grew up in Illinois then returned to Houston for college....umkay

    like Lyle Lovett says:

    "you're not from Texas,
    you're not from Texas,
    But Texas wants you anyways"

    btw: yes, the answer to the question is a girl issue. This German girl wants me to prove my Texas heritage....lol

    If you went to Rice I would say no. But if you passed up UChicago, Northwestern or UIUC to kick it on Cullen, Fondren or Cleburne street, then you obviously have some irrational attraction to this state.

    Doesn't Hank find out he's born in New York? But then goes to the Alamo, and sees all these Texan heroes that were "born elsewhere, but died in Texas"?

    You were conceived in Texas? Does your family have Texas roots? Were either of your parents born here, and/or your grandparents? If you have the roots, conception counts for a lot, in my opinion. If not, enjoy your corn! ;-D-

    You're not a texan, us natives can be snobs (4th generation Texan here)

    But like any immigrant, you can rightfully earn the label of texan in time.

    My uncle was born and raised in Michigan, but you won't find a bigger Texan.
