I changed it from Adept to Master. It definitely takes more hits to take them down. Other than that.. not sure how they can make it harder. Maybe make lockpicking harder? Maybe make experience less so you don't level as fast?
Mages cast more spells and have more magicka. Dragons attack differently on higher difficulty from my experiences. They stay in the air longer, do more dive attacks and fire/frost attacks.
It's more fun? That's how all the FPS are. You don't get anything more playing on Insane mode except to know that you can. Not that Master level in Skyrim is anything like Insane mode on the other games. It's still pretty easy to me.
I wish. I started out by choosing some weird perks. Two-hander stuff when I decided I was going to be a mage instead.
Skyrim is as easy or difficult as you want it to be... I can't remember the last time I wore armor, or invested in blacksmithing or enchanting...
That's true. I complain about it being too easy but then I got enchanting at 100 and don't need to worry about mana. I guess that's pretty hypocritical... lol
How do you guys get your enchanting so high? Just enchant random items or what? I've started to reload my magic items (Dawnstar, Mace of Malon Bog) and it's helped, but VERY slowly. I want to get my enchantment level as high as possible before I create my smithing gear so I can THEN create the best Daedric Armor I can. Then I need to figure out what to enchant it with. I haven't heard of any exploit like the Camoflague one from Oblivion, so I'll have to figure something out. Same with Alchemy. I've been creating a ton of potions but it just seems like the level isn't going anywhere.
It's not just the amount of the potions or enchanting but the quality too. Certin potions are worth more more, both for leveling and when you sell. Invisibility, slow, regen stuff are worth more. Straight up health or mana potions are not worth as much to sell or increase your leveling. For enchanting, I made a bunch of iron daggers. It also levels your blacksmith big time too. Iron daggers are only one iron ingot and one leather strip. Extremely cheap. Make a ton of those and it levels your blacksmithing. Then enchant them with the most expensive enchants you can. Look at the value after you enchant to decide which ones are worth it. Then you can sell them.
Just create a loop of "Fortify XXX" enchantments and potions. Snowberries, Spriggan Sap, Blue Butterfly Wings and Hagraven Claws all can be used to create "Fortify Enchanting" Potions; then you can add "Fortify Alchemy" enchantments to an entire set of armor, then you can make stronger Enchanting Potions and repeat until you hit the hard coded limits in the game. Or, just find a trainer, get training and pickpocket your gold back and repeat ad nauseam.
I raised my smithing and enchanting together. I would create daggers and add enchantments to them. I disenchant all items I do not use. It is def time-consuming though. Also always pay for training on the skills you need when you can, prob don't even need to tell you that.
lol. I have a pure mage and basically just wear rags. I mow down pretty much anything. I then walked into some hold that took me, my atronach, and Lydia out. I finally gave up clearing that place out after about 3 or 4 attempts. I just said "I'll be back later". It's a shame when you can destroy dragons, giants, and mammoths, but have issues with a few guys in a damn fort.
Yup... It seems more immersive to wear actual clothes, imo. I have been going with the chef's tunic...
I've been pretty much playing it straight, only getting stat increases thru things that happen as I am going thru the world. Every once in a while I will stop by the blacksmith to convert the animal hides to leather and stopping by the smelter to convert ore to ingots, then using those to make armor for money. I've been collecting tons of ingredients for making potions, but havent taken the time to actually use them. Most of my time has been collecting loot to sell (up to about 30K now) with a few main quest parts just to keep that moving. No Companions quests yet, no Bards College, up to the Staff of Magnus quest for the mage college, just starting the Thieves Guild and Spoiler just spoke to the dragon that leads the Greybeards (Parthanaux or sumthing like that). I also just came back from Sky Haven after setting up the new reformed Blades. , otherwise just a bunch of dungeon crawling. Anyone do the Azuras Star one? Going inside the star to kill the inhabitant(forget his name atm) has been a royal b****. He generates a bunch of deadra guys who are tough and they just bombard me with destruction spells so quickly I can barely keep up. I was gonna play some today, but I took an arrow in the knee.
I bum rushed him before he finished his speech and got some quality licks in. Then I just zeroed in on him all the way down the corridor. You should have enough time to kill him but then have to wait to be taken out. So bring tons of Health potions.
I don't remember having any problems with the Azura's Star guy, but I don't remember what I did, so I guess I can't help. Oh, and damn, R2K, you may want to spoiler that Greybeards comment - that's kind of gives away a big "wow" moment, I think. Luckily it was already given away for me even though I haven't done the quest. Maybe the Blades one, too, but I haven't done that either. Come to think of it, for a level 20, I haven't done much in this game.
