i wish i could feel that way. They had a chance to really prove they are legit. They didn't nut up and it is a failure. Another meaningless bowl game on the way.
This is the best thing that could have happened to the Coogs. If they played a team in the top 10 in a BCS bowl they would have been embarrassed even more than they were today.
If they don't stop the hemorrhaging and show some life in the 4th quarter, I wouldn't be totally surprised to see UH drop out of the Top 25.
This reminds me of the old Run N Shoot days where they were racking up points and yards and the offense was probably even more impressive than this one. Then they decided to schedule Miami and Illinois (?) back-to-back and Lord... talk about a rude awakening. It's even worse that they're on national TV. Ugh. Just sad.
i dont think this is enough to claim they just aren't that good...nerves are clearly playing a role. A great team needs to be good and experienced and UH is just good. Nerves can take out just a good team. Lack of talent, today at least, isn't a clear issue, since they've literally dropped one or two passes that would have been touchdowns.
Not against Southern Miss. It was against Louisiana Tech. This game is over. Very sad. I was hoping to see UH in a BCS game.
Take this from a relative outsider. I've been following UH's season all year, but I've only watched this game and the Tulsa game. It looks like UH is just getting beat by a better team. There have been a couple of bad drops, but otherwise, Houston looks like they're just getting beat at their own game. USM has a much better defense, and what looks like a slightly better offense. And though they play in the same conference USM has a bit of a harder road to this point, and it's prepared them better. It's not Houston's fault that they play in the weaker (top-to-bottom) division of a weak conference, or that their key out-of-conference win (UCLA) ended up an awful team, while USM's (Virginia) ended up pretty good. That's just how the chips fell, but it ended with USM being better prepared for a big game. (Now hopefully the Coogs make this post look stupid.)
