[rquoter]The Astros announced they've signed infielder Scott Moore to a minor league deal. The 27-year-old hit .295/.380/.444 with nine home runs in 425 Triple-A plate appearances this year, playing mostly first base, second base, and third base for the Iowa Cubs. The Astros have also signed Brad Snyder, Nick Stavinoha, Travis Buck, Brandon Barnes, Alberto Arias, Jose Valdez, and Xavier Cedeno to minor league deals this offseason. They've added Brian Bixler and Craig Tatum through waiver claims.[/rquoter]

[rquoter]The Astros announced the signing of infielder Diory Hernandez to a minor league contract with an invitation to major league spring training.

Hernandez, 27, has hit .157 with a .195 on-base percentage and a .260 slugging percentage in 138 at-bats with the Braves over the last three seasons.

In the majors, Hernandez has played mostly shortstop, a position where the Astros are piling up possible replacements for Clint Barmes. Angel Sanchez will be joined by waiver claim Brian Bixler and minor league free agent Joe Thurston. They also could add a low-cost free agent or trade acquisition to solidify the position[/rquoter]

Those #'s aren't too bad...would rather see them in a 24 year old than a 27 year old...but at least he had a good year.

Q made a mil!? I don't want him back at that price. This team is going nowhere...you can't pay a guy who has no future on the ML team (when it gets better) that much as he's aging. It just makes no sense..

Veterans make a higher minimum. You want a veteran presence behind Castro, especially coming off knee surgery.

Hard to get excited about keeping Q or replacing him wit Tatum, as the Astros 2012 C2.
