If he gets another ab injury, it is unlikely.

I like how you completely ignored everything I said about how he plays basketball.

How do you feel about his Rafer-esque shooting abilities that he has demonstrated for years without improvement?

I could give a crap about what he tweets or how often he tweets. Has he learned how to play without the basketball in his hands? Has he learned how to take good shots when he has the ball? Has he learned how to play within a system? Has he learned how to play under control?

i have the feeling a guy like twill will connect with mchale, they seem opposite personality but mchale has basketball credentials to back it up. twill has to respect his game, hes an established legend. not going to be like adelman ill guarantee you that.

T-Will cant shoot and the ball sticks in his hands too long. Those inefficiencies will cost us big time.

I believe we traded for what he could become, not what he is or has been.

That said, he was a gamble. If he hadn't been, and was an established talent, we would not have had the opportunity to get him (at least, not for what we gave up to get him).

Morris wont play sig. minutes until after the trade deadline. before then the rockets will be showcasing all these assets. Lopez ave 20/10 on a horrible horrible NJ team where even Humphries seemed decent. and all the sudden Lopez name is mentioned in D.Howard trade rumors. Morey wants Thabeet to look like Camby, TWill to look like S. Jackson, and Flynn to look like Jennings and trade them. Remember Morey is a GM not a Magician.

I didn't mean to ignore all that you posted. I was at work earlier. For years? This is his 3rd season...hardly played last season. He was drafted high because he's a potential allstar talent. How many allstars do you know that play off the ball majority of the game? He's shown in his limited minutes last season that he has the talent to make plays for himself and for others. Regardless of why he didn't get to play much last season, the bottom line is that he didn't play much in game situations.

When he finally got to play, yes he did take questionable shots and play out of control at times...but he was trying to prove himself to a coach that could probably care less how well he played. On top of that, he just started to get those limited minutes AFTER the trade deadline.

Regardless of what you, myself, or anyone else feels his weaknesses are, I can guarantee you that the entire Rockets organization knows, and knew well before you started analyzing his game. That's what they do. Its up to them to help/coach him through the rust and most important, its up to Williams to prove his doubters wrong.

Ill say this again, he hasn't had a decent enough opportunity to be listed as a failure as a rocket......YET! If he plays horribly this season he has no excuse, and no one to blame but himself, and Ill be the first to admit that if that happens......if he's not traded before the season starts.

I don't think it matters to tell you the truth.

Twill gets along even worse with a coach with basketball credentials, e.g. former NBA player. His last coach was Avery Johnson, who won a ring on the Spurs during the Duncan/Robinson twin towers era.

His biggest motivation will be that his contract is ending. Contract years and pending unemployment can be scary. Don't forger that he was hampered last year by abdominal injuries.

Smh @ folks saying Williams doesn't fit an entirely new coaching staffs' new system.

I wouldn't judge his performance off of the time he got to play in the last 2 minutes of the game either....IF that....playing while frustrated, and anxious. Its a new day, new coaching staff, new system, with a GM that believes in his talent. As Rockets fans of the entire Rockets team, let's give him a chance.

To finally answer the OPs question. Yes, I do think he'll get more minutes if he's here at the starft of the season. Hopefully Morris outplays him, hopefully Parsons outplays Morris. I hope everyone gives everyone a run for their money so this can be an exciting season.

    Morris > Wiiliams.

I think Morris will make a couple of all star teams in the near future.

The only question is how well will Morris play at the 3. I can see Bud starting while Morris is sent to the D-league to get some playing time at the 3 spot

If this were to happen, why in candyland would you trade them away? You would have the next three-peat championship team!:confused:

Morris right now seems more mature than Mr. Poor Hungry Driven.

When I think of williams, I think of a guy I played against in college and a guy who had a pretty good career, doug christie.

It took christie 3 teams before he found his niche and both he and williams are very, very similar in terms of skillset and athleticism. Christie was drafted by sonics in 92, held out on a deep team, got traded to lakers. He played with mixed results, was shipped to the knicks and we know how riley views young players. He was then traded to toronto and because of his versitility and tracy's immaturity, he played fairly decent. Once tracy started to come around, his versitility was good enough that he,tracy, and vince played 1,2,3. Even after proving himself, he was shipped to the kings where he turned into a very good player.

His ballhandling, size, and vision allowed for christie to play a lot of pg and run the offense when bibby got rolling. Williams is like that to me. He's a natural 2, but he can play point and some 3. His upside if ever realized makes a couple of guys expendable like lee and dragic. I can't say whether this will be it for him, but if he just settles into the swiss army role, he can be a good player for years to come like christie was.

This.. Morris will more than likely(against my thinking) play some d-league minutes(heard this from Feigan i think) and take the same route as Ppat.. Just the way being a 14th pick is.. Skilled enough to have precendence but not enough to earn instant minutes..

No. Forget Twill. If he cant show it in practice? Morris is the next man up and more important right now. Morris is our first round raft pick and we should move on from others like Thabeet and Twill unless they show up real quick. Time to put some real minutes into Patrick Patterson and Marcus Morris and forget what these others are doing unless they show something.

I think Martin is on the trade block with Budinger sliding to the SG if the Rockets can find a buyer. McHale wants to improve team rebounding and team defense. I think he also wants a stronger 3 than Budinger and a better defender at SG than Martin. Williams, Morris, and Parsons all seem to be more what I think McHale wants from a 3.

All I want to see is the best and helpful players on the court to win. Let things play out by themselves and who proved themselves worthy by putting work in the offseason.
