Stay conservative? As opposed to what?? Airing it out with your rookie 5th rounder who's starting his first career game in the middle of a playoff race?? And how can you possibly say the offense will suffer for it? The same way the offense suffered when Schaub only threw 15 times against Tampa? Or less than 25 times against the Titans, Jags, and Browns? Kubiak's game plans have been sound this season.

i think the big thing here is those 15 and 25 passes were extremely successful. quality not quantity. can yates give us 15-20 quality passes, i think he can.

Meaning the last time Yates was out there, of course his first ever play time in the bigs, he played well during the two minute drill. Then we started slowing everything down and ran the ball for 3 and outs galore.

Not saying that the guy needs to be let loose but at least have some type of leash instead of being so predictable against a pretty stout Atlanta run D. AJ is a lot better from what I've read and he can make it easier for our run game to operate if Yates spreads the ball thru him OD and the backs as well.

I just know we won't keep up if all we do is dump off, dump off, run dump off. We can win this game even with Yates at QB.

I wouldn't worry too much about slowing it down against Jacksonville. Several unique factors:

    1) Yates had zero work with first-team offense during the week
    2) There was no backup left, so if Yates took a shot and went down, OD was your QB
    3) The Texans were up 10, and the opposing QB was Blaine Gabbert

Given those, it made sense to essentially burn clock and get out of that stadium alive as quickly as you could. That's not the case this week, so I think you'll see a very different plan that allows Yates to throw down the field. Not worth stressing about Kubiak going conservative - at least not yet.

Translation: We ate the clock and let our #1 defense win the game for us. That's the absolute right thing to do with a 2-score lead when you only have 1 QB dressed. And the opposing QB is basically David Carr II.

Play action pass first play with option deep to Andre and an option across the field to either Foster or Casey is what I hope for. With all this Sage talk, my nightmare is TJ decides to Rosencopter on the first play.

They have done it a few times. Jags last year IIRC, and at Tampa this year.

80yard TD from Matt to Jones to start the game off.

Hopefully Kubiak will instill some trust in Yates.

Yates to Andre. Get used to it!

Yates has the arm to throw bombs to AJ all day. Moreso than Leinart.

No more of that conservative ****!

Yea it's too bad Tebow can come in for us but he's too busy making the broncos pass the raiders in the division standings

It would be funny as **** if the Raiders lose to a Tebow and Matt Moore led team in the same season.
