Imagine if Tebow were just as overtly in your face religious but he were Muslim. That would be a sh**storm. He'd probably be living in Gitmo by now. In fact, for the devoted fundamentalist Christians who don't understand why his overt public displays of religion might be a bit off-putting to some people, that is probably a pretty good thought exercise to understand why people who aren't like you might find him to be a bit much.
I went to the Broncos-Chargers' game this past Sunday. Tebow REALLY sucks live. His first 3 throws were god awful, especially the first one. Seeing those throws live were kind of amazing, in a negative way. It still amazes me that he is a starting QB in this league. His fans are like a cult. Their D was the primary reason they won, and yet every time Tebow makes a play (any type of play), they scream Tebow. It was balanced with Tebow sucks chants by Charger fans
excactly. if a muslim player got down on his knees and faced the east to do a prayer, this nation would go absolutely ****ing ape-****. this is a christian nation, so any slight offenses to christians is a big ****ing deal, but you non-christians must suffer any slight offenses in silence, cause those christians don't want to hear your whining. they've pretty much ruined christmas by obsessing over this made-up war against it and now they're trying to bring politics and religion into thanksgiving by criticizing obama because he didn't thank god in a youtube thanksgiving address. and i'm sure they'll ruin football next. i've never seen a bigger bunch of entitled whiners whose freedoms in this country are never in doubt than the religious right.
I feel like Tebow would be the crazy guy at my school that sits by a statue calling girls whores saying they will go to hell for wearing short skirts and pursuing higher education. I wonder if that guy ever won a game while only completing 2 passes...
It's funny that you let a small group of extreme christians form your views on the entire religion. Can't say I'm surprised tho.
True christians only think you will go to hell if you don't believe Jesus is your savior. Everything else is just a sin that you ask forgiveness for, but you don't go to hell for. The christian church is a hospital full of sinners, not a museum full of saints. We all sin, daily.
Don't believe in my mythology and you will go to hell to burn forever! (Christianity=Built on the foundation of fear...)
If not for our PC climate of today I would agree. But the PC climate would keep anything negative from having any kind of impact.(You might have crazed bloggers saying stuff, but nothing mainstream - well, might get a fox news piece but I did say mainstream)
As usual, lazy and simplistic. Spoiler If was to comment about you posting a gif of a man punching a woman, would a response of "just get over it" seem appropriate?
Kurt Warner says Tim Tebow should tone down religious rhetoric http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...ious-rhetoric/2011/11/29/gIQA6fio8N_blog.html I think a lot is Tebow is so BAD as a THROWER, that you have to put SOME blame on his overt Christianity as a HINDRANCE to his throwing development. I agree with what bloop said, just didnt agree about the part of if NOT having to do with his college days.
When the Virgin Mary got her **** wrecked by Mary Magdalene trying to come over the middle after Lazarus floated up a duck.
That's what happens when you depend on a guy who's come back from the dead to play QB. Once in a while you get a wounded duck. I bet ANY of the apostles could nail a deep out from the opposite hash though.
Explain that to the freaks that call them selves the crusaders preaching at school . Scare me further away from religion everyday.
Not sure where you are getting at. As for Tebow religion people seem to talk about it more than he does. As someone pointed out where is the outrage when Ray Lewis does it? Tebow is not the first athlete to get on his knees during the last minutes of a clutch game and he's not the first to thank god during an interview. Him being religious has been way overblown and I don't get why.
As for Tebow the QB I don't think the Broncos can make any noise in the playoffs with him playing like he has. If they face an offense that can score they will be in trouble like the Lions game.
