Just to counter this opinion, I've been to the City Centre SMG many times, and I don't agree with these points.

    - You don't have to get there and stand in a line if you reserve your seats for what I believe is a $1 fee. Hmmm...40 minutes in a line, or $1? Easy choice if you ask me.

    - Obviously I'm one of those people who reserves their seat beforehand, so you already know my response to your second point.

    - The screens and the sound systems certainly aren't the best out there, but I've never found them to be noticeably bad. I've also never heard someone actually call a waiter in a distracting manner - in fact, I can't honestly recall being distracted from a movie at all for any reason.

    - There's a parking garage connected to the theater that I've never had any trouble finding a spot in, and I'm pretty sure it's either been Friday or Saturday every time I went.

*Not saying you're wrong, or that you haven't actually had these experiences. Like I said, I'm just giving a different take.

Another thumbs up for Star Cinema Grill. The only location I have been to is the Clear Lake/Webster one. Never had any issues. I wouldn't call it upscale but the service is good and the food is not too over priced. You call the waiters by pushing a call button so there are no disturbances during the movie.

The only movie theatre that ever stood out to me was the Angelica, I went to the one in Plano a few times.

Other than that type of theatre my favorites around Houston are the Silverado in Tomball and Starplex in Kingwood. They're new, clean, seem safe.. Etc.

the reason I LIKE the paid parking at Edwards is because it keeps the poors and teenagers out. Major win

Star Cinema is awesome. You wouldn't think a strip center space could be that nice on the inside but it is! They got a full bar, if you need your waiter just hit the button, food's pretty good. The screen is small but they got nice leather seats. I like Studio Movie Grill too, but Star Cinema is way closer.

The atmosphere of the Alamo can't be beat.

If you want a big ass screen, then hands down IMAX at Edwards Marquee.

Otherwise, any screen on Saturday morning will work just fine...any screen where you don't have to deal with stupid teenagers, parents with babies and generally inconsiderate people.

Alamo all day baby. I wanna go to their regular events, but all the ones I like I have school/work at the same time. For IMAX, Edwards Marquee because it's the closest that's not a LIEMAX.

I might check this place out once MI5 or Sherlock Holmes 2 comes out.

O.k. I am now joining the ranks of those who think this is an internet character.

No one actually refers to poor people as "the poors" in real life.

I believe Harlow's offers free valet service at Edwards. But you may have to eat there to get it, idk

Silverado in Tomball is nice, except for the fact I went with my family down there to visit my mom and ext. family last year ( I live in Tn.) and was watching the last Narnia movie while my seat was being consistently kicked and pushed. .. I would lean back to give the little person a hint, but nothing..near the end when the kicking got overwhelming, I turned around kinda pissed and told this kid to stop kicking my chair, the parents were with the kid too - of course he stopped and at the end of the movie, the father was walking down and stopped in my aisle to kinda stare at me for a second, and to that I stared back pissed - nothing happened, he kept going . .. but the thing to me is how could you not realize your kid was kicking someone's chair? - and why get defensive when asked to stop - I dunno I guess my mentality is different, if my kid beside me was kicking a chair and pushing on it,...A - I would notice, B - I would make sure my kid stops being disruptive and rude....it's simple.

Silverado Tomball is my favorite theatre. Its nice in there and if you sign up for the Reel Deal Rewards card youll constantly get free tickets free popcorn drinks etc. I usually take my daughter there and I always make sure shes not swinging her feet cause its real easy to kick the next rows chair. So yeh that falls on the parents. The first time it happend you probably should have politely informed the parent. If that didnt work consult a manager. Theyre pretty good about keeping everyone comfortable in there.
