I doubt that Lincoln Chafee wants to ban the term "Christmas" but this is a matter of an official state tree and not a matter of private celebration.
Just curious but religiously isn't Easter a more important holiday than Christmas? So if we are giving a holiday specifically for Christians wouldn't Easter be more fitting?
Easter always falls on a Sunday -- which is not a normal workday the government gives us off. We don't get Good Friday off either.
Retailers all over the U.S. would revolt. Thanks. I am getting much stronger physically since my return to Houston. Getting the HUD house into shape was a chore, but the house is appraised for three times the purchase price. I've been reading the D&D daily, but I have too many obligations to get involved on a prolonged basis. Several times I started to reply in threads regarding the tea parties but I refrained because posters were making up allegations faster than I could refute them.
The Governor is acting like an ass. I've been a devout atheist my entire adult life, and I have zero problems with Christmas Trees. Sometimes, secular leftist can behave even more ridiculous than religious fundamentalist, and the avowed war against Christmas displays is an example of that.
