Patterson? Morris? Brook Lopez is highly overrated and plays soft. And why would the Magic keep Howard in conference? Look for them to trade him to a Western Conference team just like the Jazz did by trading Deron to the East. The Nets also gave up there draft picks in the D-Will trade, no?
Maybe so, but Lopez has shown that he can average 20 ppg as the focal point of the offense. What exactly have Patterson/Morris shown? B/c if the Magic trade Howard, they aren't contending. They're rebuilding, and it wont matter where he goes. It's not like Orlando would make the playoffs without Howard. Not quite. You go with the best deal regardless of where it comes from.
two 14th pick that includes a rookie and the other isnt even the top 5 rookie of his class? Don't think that'll be more attractive than Brook Lopez + 2 high 1st rounders.
you've gotta be kidding me, while patterson and morris have potential, they have accomplished nothing and are not sure fire deals. While Brook lopez has his flaws, he is a 7 footer who can score 20 plus every night which right away puts him in the top 5 center category and he is young. It all comes down to Bynum vs Lopez to the Magic
Chances are one of the first round picks being traded is the Rockets 2012 pick. Thanks Terrence Williams! Thanks Daryl Morey!
Hated that trade then, still hate it now. What was the purpose of getting Williams when we already traded for a SG in Lee?
old school owners don't like trading in conference (i understand and agree with the rationality, however watching yourself get beat by your old star multiple times a year can be an issue, but it's just not done), and at 85, their owner is as old school as they come.
Dwight is not going to New Jersey. NJ has no picks to offer. They lost it in the Deron Williams deal and back to back picks cant be traded away
NJ can trade first round picks from 2013 and 2015. it's a stretch but DH12 for the 2013 pick and their 2012 second round pick plus Lopez and cash could happen.
Nets had a 1st round pick this past draft... they have two 1st round picks in 2012 (their own and Houston's) that can be traded. Or they can hold on to one of those (maybe their own) and trade their 2013 1st round pick.
they can't trade their 2012 pick because you can't trade back to back first round picks. I don't think they can trade the pick the Rockets owe them either because it's conditionally.
Deron and Dwight. Could be an even better of a 1-2 punch compare to Lebron-Wade , Melo-Stat or Kobe-Gasol.
It's crazy to trade for a superstar unless you are positive they will re-sign. This is why the Knicks got Carmelo, because other teams were scared off. As for as Dwight, I still think he ends up in LA or Chicago. The Bulls can offer Noah, and Dwight can join another top five player. Chicago isn't LA when it comes to glamor, but it's a hell of a lot better than central Florida. So that would be: Chicago: Dwight and Derrick Miami: Wade, LeChoke, and Bosh NY: Amare and Carmelo And this will pretty much shut out every other EC team for the next 5 years.
