I know it's Broussard, but I just read this. "While Boston is not shopping Rajon Rondo, it would be open to trading him in the right deal, sources say. The Celtics feel they need more scoring to take the load off Paul Pierce." http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/33566/chris-paul-and-new-yorks-hopes
Why? They have there own version of Rondo except with a better jumper and more of a rebounder. I wouldn't mind if we traded for him.
Westbrook is better I think so they'd have to throw in something else, problem is he wants to take the last second shot over Durant . I actually want him to stay away from the Rockets, just because I don't like the guy very much. I would rather have Lowry any day.
Not sure how every thread becomes about trading Westbrook (I'm sure he'd be thrilled with the attention). Rondo and Perkins are best friends... and Rondo is locked into a decent contract while Westbrook has restricted free agency just around the corner.
Rondo would be a better fit for the Thunder than Westbrook is, and Westbrook would be better with the celtics, and maybe they could bring Green back in the trade. Rondo/Maynor Harden/Sefolosha Durant/Green Ibaka/Collison/Green PerKins/Collison
I was thinking they could attempt to pry Paul from the Hornets. Hard to tell if the NBA will let that happen, since Paul is the only thing keeping the Hornets from going under financially.
I would be shocked if the Celts trade Rondo because they wouldn't get equal value in return. A team would have to blow them away with an offer, which means it won't happen. They do need more scoring because PP, KG and Ray Allen will be further in decline, but Rondo's skills make it easier for those guys to get the ball where they want it. OKC would be insane to trade Westbrook for Rondo. Why do you guys think Westbrook is a poor fit in OKC? Hasn't KD led the league in scoring twice with WB at PG? How many more points does he need to score? If you watched OKC on a regular basis last season, you'd know that without WB's strong offensive bent, OKC would have trouble scoring.
I would prefer Rondo to Lowry for various reasons. However, I wouldn't want us to do that trade. While I do think Rondo would be an upgrade, he would come at too steep of a price to make it worth the upgrade over Lowry. Rondo is a great PG, but IMO if Boston trades him, they would be making a good move by selling high. Maybe his value/production is inflated by all of the talent that has been surrounding him for the past couple of seasons.
And as has been said: Westbrook apparently causes friction with his O and with Perk. Perk and RR are tight. Smells like a deal could/should be worked out, and pieces are only there for salary balances, as necessary. BTW - - this doesn't say ROX in any variation.
Too bad he's a bad fit with us. Because I've always wanted a big PG that can defend both guard positions.
Don't want pg that can't shoot, when defender can sag you off like 5 feet, your entire offense become handicapped
I love Lowry and he brings a lot to the table but Rondo brings a player that's at a different level skill wise. If all we had to give up is a few peices like Scola, HIll or T-Will I'd do it and see what type of center we could net with Lowry's relatively cheap contract. Patterson would of course become our starting forward.
How I feel about Rondo is, any above average decent PG would bring the assist numbers he does on that team with the amount of weapons he has. He can rebound and defend great, but he is an offensive liability. In the playoffs both the Heat and NY strategies were let Rondo shoot, leave him open. Ya occasionaly he got the hot hand and made them pay, but at other times he was pathetic missing open rebounds and short jumpers. Plus I remember him getting in that argument with CP3 2ish seasons ago, man is a douche and way too full of himself.
I agree he has a huge weakness with his mid range and outside jumper but the guy is a relative star when it comes to all the other attributes of his game. We already have shooters around here that would benefit from his playmaking ability such as Martin, Budinger, and now Parsons and or Morris so he would definitely be a good fit with talent around him. And if we were somehow able to receive Nene too that would be a guaranteed playoff contender (assuming health withstands). But yeah my proposal is if anything minimal and a dream so I wouldn't do it for anything outrageous besides Scola + fillers + picks.
