Hayes needs to be a Rocket I will completely understand if we give an offer for Hayes but he walks to another team for a chance at the chip but i will be LIVID if Morey and Mr Alexander dont offer hardest working man in the NBA a contract...He will only help this team... Rebuild or not!
http://wagesofwins.com/2011/11/28/free-agents-power-forwards/ Wages of Wins think he's the second best power forward on the market... interesting I say
Kris Humphries is #1! However, given that he and Kardashian are now divorced, he probably won't be any good. Being intimate with a Kardashian improves athletic performance. It is known.
Got no clue. Love him a lot. If he does go, that makes Hilario (I refuse to go along with his self declared Pele/Madonna status) a much more important signing.
Did any of you guys watch how Chuck stone-walled Blake Griffin when we played the Clippers this season? When any other rox big went up against Griffin, he did whatever he wanted to them. Griffin could only take lower percentage turn-around jumpers when Hayes played defense against him. Chuck's defense isn't shown in the stats, but he's one of the best (probably the best) high-post defenders in the game with a continually improving offensive game. Only when he's gone will rox fans truly realize how vital he really was. Sign that man back, trade Scola, develop Ppat, get a big, and have Hayes as the "starter off the bench"!
I respect Chuck's game so much that I think he is our #2 priority coming into offseason after getting an all-star caliber center.
I don't understand the logic of letting him go even if he has shown inclination to stay. It's not like he's old and washed up. He's only 28 years old. He still has time to improve his game and shown a willingness to do so. The man was atrocious on offense just a couple seasons ago and now we can pencil him in at least 10 ppg.
Looks like the Celtics are interested... http://twitter.com/#!/SeanDeveney But I don't think hes going anywhere. http://www.myfoxhouston.com/dpp/sports/nba/111130-nena-hilario-chuck-hayes
Its in his best interest to join a team like the Celtics. If your a true Chuck fan you would want him to win a ring. If your a true Rockets fan you wouldn't want Chuck on your team because he's awesome and will win you games, we should start losing some. I'd hate to be the Bucks.
Based on how we approach the Hayes situation, I think we can get a good idea of what the direction is going forward. If we re-sign Chuck, then we are going to continue our current course. If we let Chuck go, then we are definitely rebuilding.
If we truly reached out to every free agent center on the market, then we are only floating lowball offers, hoping to net the one who ends up left out with a below market price. That is, if we even floated offers. The conversations might have been "we are shopping for a center at a reasonable price, we like your guy, call us in a few days if you don't get the knock your socks offer you are looking for, and we'll talk." As such, I think the odds are that we retain Chuck have gone up.
